Product Information

Delivers 300 watts in a low-profile, portable combo.

The 1x12 Mesa Boogie Walkabout Scout Convertible bass combo amp delivers huge tone in one tiny rig. A pure all-tube preamp provides the tone. Tubes even drive its MOSFET power block, giving WalkAbout great Simul-State performance.
The Scout cabinet, a double breakthrough in design, provides docking for the powerful WalkAbout. In minutes, with only a screwdriver, you can convert the Walkabout from a head to an awesome combo.

And to magnify your booty, the Scout speaker cabs boast a unique down-firing Passive Radiator. This low-end down-force amplifies the cabinet volume to produce shocking hugeness. And to keep it light, it uses space-age neodymium speaker technology.
Now the Walkabout Scout's better than ever with Mesa Boogie's versatile Player Control Network, featuring selectable 3-point crossover (3k / 4k / 5k), a premium Horn Attenuator, and Instant Reset Horn Protection.

With our Guaranteed Lowest Price, you can be assured of complete satisfaction and the lowest available price, or your money back!

NEW REVIEW - Worth Every Penny!

Seriously, you can't go wrong with this combo. Mesa has figured it all out. Tons of power and amazing tone. Very versatile controls and the speaker with the down firing radiator making the bottom thump. Pull the head out and drop it on a larger cab for bigger venues. Recently used it in the studio. Engineer wanted me to DI into the board and I said fine but let's mic the Walkabout in isolation as well. Guess which signal sounded the best? After playing for over 30 years and lugging around giant cabs and heavy amps to be able to grab two basses in a double gig bag and a Walkabout in the other hand chuck em in the trunk of my sports car and go is the best. Buy it I'm sure you will agree.

Eats the markbass for lunch

After two months of owning this amp and 7 gigs, I am still blown away every time I here it! I had the Gallien Krueger 700RB 2x10 Combo for a couple of years. Recently I have been playing with an Ampeg 4x10 rig for 7 years(138lbs). Two great amps. Looking for something smaller I purchased a few small markbass combos. I didn't like them at all. Bad low range, low mids had WAY to many overtones. I just felt an uncomfortable, unnatural push from the low mids. Great volume I must admit, and the highs sounded good. Asked the salesman at GC how he sold any at this price. He asked me to try out the Walkabout combo. WOW! The low end sounds compressed, balanced and full. Even on the G string. As I have walk around venues while others were playing my rig I noticed complete separation from the low frequencies and the rest of the band. I could pic out the precise tones that were coming from the kick and the bass. And the low end carries in large rooms with no P.A. I don't know about outdoors yet. I have also found that when my settings are at 95% optimal tone, I will dial in the parametric eq to, lets say get rid of 240hz -3 Db, and some other freq will pop up in its place. Thats called good well rounded tone. I could go on for days. Bottom line is, I know good sound and this the best I have ever heard from a bass amp without a full P.A. i.e. subs, nice board. Buy it! You will not regret it!

Mesa For Bass

Don't let the size fool you.. all the reviews I read were right.....with 4ohms speaker this amp blows away my old yorkville 400HB 400w 15" combo and all but a few 410 head and cabs I was looking at.....I tried them all REALLY! and kept coming back to the Walkabout..love the sound just plug in( fender Jazz) and go....Played small 100 200 seaters no problem at all. I do use a Line 6 Floor pod xt( now) for just volume and some effects no modeling......run direct from amp no problem.... check out all the reviews..try and find one used! Think Mesa For Bass ...Glad I did

Worth the money!

I've played and owned pretty much every brand name amp in pro bass gear, and there is nothing that compares to this amp! I play in a reggae and funk band, so needless to say, I'm used to earth shaking low end. I didn't think a lightweight combo could handle what I was used to. Boy, was I wrong! This little amp cranks! Not only is it loud, but it has tone for days. I play Fender Jazz and Precision basses and with the tone controls flat, it brings out the natural tone of the basses. I've gotten nothing but compliments from fans, band members, and sound men since I've had the Walkabout Scout. Load-ins are now a breeze. Pick one up, you wont regret it.
