Overview

This Meinl Soundcaster Fusion thin ride cymbal has a soft feel with an articulate response. Perfect for any application where a washy ride sound and a clear ping are both needed, this thin ride cymbal has a great stick sound with a nice controllable wash.

The Meinl Soundcaster cymbal is the result of extensive research and development efforts in finding new and exciting sounds. The cymbals are made from B12 bronze alloy for a smooth, rich sound with great dynamics and expression. This Soundcaster Fusion thin ride cymbal is ideal for the creative and expressive drummer. Its finish has an outstanding look combining two different finishes in one cymbal. The lathed surface section creates a thinner edge compared to the unlathed, brilliant finish area at the middle of the cymbal. These different material thicknesses effect a warm and shimmering sound with an enhanced wash.

versitile cymbal

Comments about Meinl Soundcaster Fusion Thin Ride Cymbal:

ordered this cymbal on a whim looking for a lighter alternate ride to use with my paiste signature power ride. i am not disappointed!! it has a great bell and inner bow(brilliant finish) sound for light rock, funk, and latin. in louder settings it works great for a modern/brighter bill ward/keith moon washy ride sound. riding the thinner regular finished edge is great for very loud rock/metal and it opens up very quickly as a big crash, considering its size. traditional jazz would be the only situation this cymbal probably wouldn't work, only because of its bright sound.

Way Better Than I Expected!

Comments about Meinl Soundcaster Fusion Thin Ride Cymbal:

I got this to use as a big crash. When I lay into this thing it can overpower my AAXplosion crashes and 18" Oriental China. As a ride it's awesome. It has a very nice ping (which I didn't expect at all) and it gets quite washy near the edge. As a ride it is a perfect volume and when I crash it occasionally it sounds great. The bell is pretty good. It doesn't cut quite as much as my Paiste Alpha Rock Ride, but now I think that's a good thing. For anything but metal this will excel as a ride. For the loudest music it will make the most powerful crash you've heard. This is my main ride for most gigs and if we have a outside gig with no mics on the drums I use it as a crash.
