Comments about Meinl Midsize Birchwood Cajon:

We use it for worship at our small church. It works well. If you are a taller person, you should opt for the full size one. Otherwise it is an excellent sound and value.

It was a gift.
The recipient is a percussionist in a Christian Worship team.
It adds to his versatility. It's small enough; easy to store when not in use.

Comments about Meinl Midsize Birchwood Cajon:

This is a great instrument to start learning on. My 5 year old grandson just went to the hilt in the middle of our Christmas Party when I put it in t he middle of the livIngroom floor.

He uses uses every square inch of it to explore different sounds. We will start working on rhythms pretty soon.

If you can afford it, buy it.

Great Sound - Excellent Value

By James

from Maynard, MA

Comments about Meinl Midsize Birchwood Cajon:

We bought this as a Christmas present for our 7 year old daughter and I'm amazed at the great sound quality of this cajon. I have an LP full-size adjustable snare cajon and this mid-size Meinl doesn't concede a thing when it comes to sound quality and playability. The snare is bright, lively and distinctive, while the bass is full and well defined just as on a full-size cajon. My daughter is about 4'2" tall and this cajon is the perfect size for her, however it will also be fine for the shorter adult as well. I think anybody 5'5" or shorter will find this cajon to be an acceptable size, and given its wonderful sound quality, quite a bargain as well. This is a well-made mid-size cajon with full-size sound. Highly recommend!

Value Cajon

By Richard D

from Westchester, NY

Comments about Meinl Midsize Birchwood Cajon:

We bought this for our son because the price was so good ($50) and we weren't sure how committed he'd be to using it. Its constructions seems solid and its appearance is fine. It's sound seems to be about what you pay for. Having said that, I don't have a lot of experience with cajons -- I have heard them played but haven't played any myself before this one. It just doesn't seem as resonant or responsive as I'd expect from a quality instrument. Nevertheless, my kids love it and I think it will hold up well. I think it was a great choice for getting started and you'd have a hard time finding a better price.
