Heavier weight and a highly polished finish gives the Mb20 Ride Cymbal a bright, dry and glassy ping.
Meinl's Mb20 series was created for one reason-high volume. The weights are all on the heavier side for that reason. But anyone can make a loud ride cymbal, the magic with the Mb20 series is that they are still musical and they feel good to play. The cymbals are handmade in Turkey using the traditional B20 bronze alloy and then the polishing process is performed in Germany. The finish is a super brilliant finish-perfect for stage lights, and Meinl has a special two-step buffing process. The cymbals are perfect for anything loud.

I bought the 22" Heavy Ride and loved it. I play a lot of metal and hardcore and used this as a ride/crash. The sound of this cymbal broke through the rest of my set (all Meinl Byzance). The only thing about this ride is that it lasted less than a year. I bought all my cymbals at the same time and this is the first one that cracked. I still use it for effect, but that's all I'm able to do with it. I would recommend this ride any day for any type of rock, but you MUST buy protection for it. I would rather buy protection than spend another $460 (after tax).
