For the price it is a nice addition to your kit. A little thin sounding in comparison to some other splash cymbals Iۡve played but a great value. The tone is good for a cymbal of this price range. Overall a good choice for the price.

I like it

By brandon armstrong

from Little Rock Arkansas

Comments about Meinl HCS Splash Cymbal:

I want to start off saying that not every cymbal is going to have the exact same sound. With that being said I bought the 10" and i love it. It kind of has a cowbell sound but if you tap it lightly with the nylon tip it has a nice ring to it.

takes the heat

By Devin carmichael

Comments about Meinl HCS Splash Cymbal:

awesome splash especially for being a sheet cymbal. iv'e given this little 8" saucer a hammering since i purchased it 2 years ago and its got only one tiny dent on the bell, hardly visible. sounds better than any splash i have played. very highly recommended for beginners and seasoned drummers for the price and even more the sound and style.

8 Inch

By Rosemarie Padunan

from Woodside, NY

Comments about Meinl HCS Splash Cymbal:

Okay to good sound. But it's too quiet. It has very little sound. Wasn't really satisfied so I returned it. Great for the price though. Good for Beginners. But if I were you, I'd rather go and pick out a wuhan splash. They're like the same price. PS. It almost sounds like the splash Chris Adler uses in Laid to Rest. BUT MUCH QUIETER.

Cheap

By Jordan Thompson

from Seatac, WA

Comments about Meinl HCS Splash Cymbal:

I got the 8" about a year ago because it was so cheap, but realized that you get what you pay for. It's quiet (even more so than I expected from a splash) and you really have to hit it hard to get any kind of brightness or bite out of it, other wise it just sounds like a rather pathetic gong. On the up side it is really durable, I use it a few times a week and a year after getting it there's still no sign of hairline cracks. I recommend spending the extra cash and going with a Zildjian ZBT splash or something for a more audible bite though.

Amazing for the money!

By Kasey Janzen

from Arizona

Comments about Meinl HCS Splash Cymbal:

I have this splash (10 in) and also a Zildjian K splash and this splash sounds just as good. This is a cheaper splash and sounds pretty much equivalent to the $130 K splash that I have. Definitely worth the $$. It does have a deeper sound then some splashes.

aweome cymbal

By Y.L

from baltimore, md

Comments about Meinl HCS Splash Cymbal:

I bought the 8 inch, because it was really cheap, and it was really worth it. I bought this cymbal a few months ago, and it is still in perfect condition. It has a few scratches on it that are barely noticable , and it works very well still, even though I beat it really hard. It has a pretty ring to it that dies out quickly, and you can hear it over the other cymbals. It has a china sound, and good when you want to use it as a cowbell. This is a really good cymbal, and I advise you to get it also.

Great for the price

By Bobby cumberledge

from Pittsburgh, PA

Comments about Meinl HCS Splash Cymbal:

I've has this splash in the 10 inch for a few weeks now and although it's not one of the best splashes, it is great for the cost. Pretty durable so, short and fast decay and bright in tone. I recommend this splash for anyone on a budget or if it's your first splash cymbal. Meinl is a great company and make quality cymbals & for the cost these cymbals will do you fine. I'll continue to play this splash until I buy another more expensive splash from meinl.
