Great sound , wish the bell was a little more big , great finish , go MEINL !!!
As far as beginner ride cymbals go, this is a really nice one. Has a nice ping to it and the bell has a pretty heavy ding but its is too ringy for my taste and you get a bad tone if you try to crash it.
I purchased this ride cymbal for my first drum set, and it is fantastic for the price. Of course it doesn't sound like a two-hundred dollar ride (you can't usually get incredible sound without an incredible price), but Meinl has done it again and produced a product that sounds good yet costs very little. This ride makes a nice ping, especially when played with nylon-tip sticks. The ringy overtones aren't super-appealing, but if they really annoy you, several strips of Gaffer's tape stuck to the underside of this cymbal will kill most of the problem. The bell is not incredible, but if struck the right way, it doesn't sound bad either. You can't crash this ride very much, but that's not really a big problem if you have an actual crash cymbal, too. All in all, if you're a beginner and you need a ride that sounds good, this is just what you need. Also, if you have just broken your ride, and you need a super-cheap temporary replacement ASAP, this might be a good solution. I give this product five stars not because it competes with the top-quality rides (because it really doesn't), but simply because this cymbal is better than it should be for the price.
Basically, I was looking for a few inexpensive cymbals to replace all my broken ones. I stumbled upon this ride cymbal and decided to buy it. I was SERIOUSLY shocked at how well it sounded for being so cheap! I LOVE the ping that the bell gives out. I'm about to buy another one to mimic the other ride I have of this, for the double bell sound. Honestly, you should really invest. You WILL NOT be disappointed.
I've been using this ride cymbal for a few weeks now and it seems to be pretty durable. It has a nice ride sound and it can also be used as a 20 inch crash when hit in the right place. Overall for the price, this cymbal delivers the durability and a crisp sound that come with more expensive ride cymbals of the same size.
The Meinl 20 inch Ride Cymbal fits right in with the rest of the HCS family, great sounding cymbal at a low cost! It has a nice ping and the bell is loud and clear!
this cymbal could be great for any style. if your a person that loves heavy type music it really gives that that chime noise when played at the bell. it has alot of sustain in it great cymbal at a low price
When you honestly think about it why pay more on a ride cymbal and waste your money on just about the same thing.now im not downing other ride cymbals but this meinhl ride is a pretty darn good cymbal and i really do think it is worth it. if you want a nice cymbal without spending to much i recommend this cymbal.
This ride cymbal has a great, bright ride sound. It is basically a Meinl hi-hat cymbal, but enlarged to 20". It has a good bell, and like other Meinl cymbals, it has a coating so that it won't tarnish.
This Meinl HCS Ride Cymbal has been very good to me and the sound to my Youth Band. I have been playing for about 7 months now and have to say that it has a very nice sound, especially for the price. I must say that the delivery was super quick and arrived to my house in 3 days. That has to be a 5 star for delivery rating. Must buy while they last!!! God bless to all
