Good Deal

This cymbal may be inexpensive, but it has a good sound. However, don't be deceived by the picture. It isn't shiny. It's SUPER shiny! It also has a great bell sound.

14" Meinl HCS Hi-Hat cymbals

By Dbones62

from Broomall, PA

Comments about Meinl HCS Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

These are amazing hi-hats i got them with my meinl hcs starter cymbals pack, my favorite cymbal has got to be the hi-hats. These are very inexpensive but give off GREAT sound. I have played zildjian, paiste, and sabian hi hats and the meinl hats give just a good of sound for a lot less. So do your self a favor and save some money and get these hi-hats.

Excellent

By Dillon

from Phoenix, Arizona

Comments about Meinl HCS Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

I got the 13" for my friend, and loved them so much I got the even better 14" for myself. The 13's have a nice crisp click to them and the 14's have a nice hard sizzle. They're worth way more than you spend on them and they're better than half the intermediate level cymbals.

My son LOVES these!

By Johnny

from West Sacramento, CA

Comments about Meinl HCS Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

My son recently got his first real drum set off of the internet. A cheapy beginner set CB I think. He has been playing them for about 6 months now, and his Hi-Hat finally wore out, flimsy thing that it was. We went online to look up pricing for a new set of Sabians (he saw some at his instructor's), and found these Meinl's pretty inexpensive (comparatively). We stopped in at the store but they didn't stock them. Only online. So we ordered a pair and they arrived within a few days. It is amazing the difference between these and the old pair he had. And they call these cheap? Humph! If these are cheap quality, then the top of the line sets must be made of gold and play themselves! Awesome, sturdy hit-hat at an even more awesome price!

Great Hi-hats

By Zeni

from Mohnton, PA

Comments about Meinl HCS Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

These are great Hi-Hats especially for the price. They have a great sound and they feel really strong. I have the 13" and I have no complaints. Since these are great, I bet the ride and crash by Meinl have to sound just as great. I plan on getting them.

Decent, but only for the price. Great Beginner Cymbal

By Jacob

from Collinsville Illinois

Comments about Meinl HCS Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

I wrote this review because i saw that the majority of those already written are from drummers who have never had much experience with higher-end cymbals or a majority of other cymbals as well. I gave these four stars just because of the price. They have a decent closed chick sound, but when you open them, you realize why you only payed this much for these. They're not bad when quickly opened and closed for accent on a groove, but when you're playing choruses they don't sound that great. Overall, they are good for the money, but don't expect more than you pay for. I would put them above the other entry level hi-hats, just based on sound brand new, but not above much else. If you're a beginner, i would strongly recommend these, but if you're looking for an upgrade from B8s or ZBTs, go higher-end.

Awsome hats

By Garrett

from MI

Comments about Meinl HCS Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

i got these hats because Christmas is coming up soon and my old stock hats that came with my set were ripped apart. It took 4 days to arrive and when i opened the box they were super shiney! ive had them for about 2 weeks now and i love them! it took a few days of warming up to but they are worth the money.

These are incredible. Buy them

By Sara

from Springfield, MO

Comments about Meinl HCS Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

I have used these hats (I chose the 13s because I already had 14s) on my kit for about the past 6 months or so, and I'm thrilled with the quality. I didn't want to write a review until I had used them for a while, and I have to say that these sound better than a lot of way more expensive cymbals. They're heavy and can withstand my hard hitting. I used them when my band recorded in the studio and they came out loud, bright, and very crisp even before our producer mixed the drum tracks. They blend perfectly with my other cymbals because of the bright tone they produce. If you're a drummer that's on a budget but you don't want to sacrifice good quality, BUY THESE NOW.

Amazing

By Austin

from Northside, Georgia

Comments about Meinl HCS Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

These hats came with my Tama Imperialstar. I've used these for 2 YEARS. Part of that is due to budget. But they STILL sound as good as the day I got them. If you have cymbals that have no name on them, and you're looking for an upgrade within budget, go for these hats. They have a nice chick when closed, but press down too hard on them you'll get a slight ring. But the washy open sound makes up for it. Great cymbals. Even for a heavy hitter like me.

By Andrew Orr

from Fort Worth, TX

Comments about Meinl HCS Hi-Hat Cymbal Pair:

I just got the 13" hi-hats, and they sound incredible! They have a great chic sound to them and they have a great sizzle, open sound, and closed hit! If you're looking for some cheap, high grade cymbals, I suggest these.

I use this high hat in a lot of beats that I make like funky sounding and up beat these have a perfect sound for thoughs beats and things like bossa nova rock and jazz the only thing wrong with it is that it has a slow up and down action that's the only bad part nothing else everything else is perfect.
