Though their hand-hammered and lathed surfaces with warm sounds are rooted in tradition, but Meinl Byzance cymbals are the ultimate choice when it comes to modern versatility. Every Byzance model is hand hammered into shape by cymbal artisans in Turkey, giving each cymbal its own unique and colorful voice. The overall presence that Meinl Byzance delivers is dark, buttery warmth that flows around crisp definition.

The Byzance Extra Dry Dual Crash/Ride is a contrast of extra dry and brilliant finish with a unique combination of hammering and lathing. This cymbal features dual playing zones for riding and crashing. This cymbal is great for throaty accents and opens up easily when crashing while maintaining a clear stick definition when riding.

Comments about Meinl Byzance Extra Dry Dual Crash/Ride Cymbal:

I really enjoy this cymbal. I do not really use it as a ride, it is exclusively a crash for me. If I ride on it, it sounds like I'm riding on a crash. Which is fine for me, as I bought it for the sake of using as a crash.
It's also the most beautiful cymbal I own.

I play in a six piece post hardcore band. Works well with my genre. Blends well but has just the cut I was looking for.

This cymbal is absolutely great! I have the 20'' version. It cuts through the loud guitars in my band without overpowering anything. I would recommended it for sure! It's beyond musical

Comments about Meinl Byzance Extra Dry Dual Crash/Ride Cymbal:

I have played Paiste Signature cymbals for more than 15 years. I was very intrigued when I saw a YouTube video of Mike Johnston playing the entire Meinl Dual Dry series. They have such a different warm, dark, dry sound that is a great contrast and compliment to my Paiste Signature 18" Full Crash and 18" Power Crash. I now own the 18" Meinl Dual Dry Crash and the 20" Crash Ride. These four crashes give me four completely different colors. Very happy with my purchase!

Comments about Meinl Byzance Extra Dry Dual Crash/Ride Cymbal:

I have the 22" version of this cymbal and I love it to death. I first fell in love with it years ago when Memphis Drum Shop had it as an Actual Foundry Proof (prototype). It was a lot more expensive than this, and I'd just started high school so I knew that I wouldn't be able to afford it, but I still wanted it so badly. When Meinl rolled them out as production cymbals I was incredibly excited, but I was curious if it would sound unique, model-to-model, but similar to the original. It does. My friend had a 22" that he let me try out for a recording session and it sounded incredible. I bought one, and it sounded slightly different, but still had the same characteristics. It has a very dark and trashy sound, and responds fully even at lower volumes. The best way to describe it is explosive and punchy. I play in an indie rock band, but I play hardcore sometimes, and it excels in both genres. It's not the loudest cymbal in the world, and it blends a lot more than it cuts through a mix, but I love that quality. Mine doesn't do great as a ride, but the one that my friend let me record with had a better ride sound. I recommend this cymbal to absolutely anyone looking for a huge, trashy, explosive cymbal. If you want a bright, cutting sound, this simply isn't it, but it's a gorgeous instrument that really is unique.

I've got this particular cymbal in a 20" version, it crashes wonderfully, a 'big' sounding crash if you will. The quality is excellent as always with Meinl, this whole Byzance series blows me away.
