This little shaker is amazing! It is softer than some of the other shakers I've tried. If you want that live percussion sound than you need this item in your arsenal.
I purchased the medium size shaker. It has a solid, and somewhat unique sound, different than egg shakers or the Luis Conte models (which I also own). Almost a maraca crossed with a shaker sound is what I hear. Not as cutting as the Luis Conte double live shaker, more subtle. You can get nice effects by using the two contrasting surfaces of this shaker, getting different tones. If you combine various shakers to produce a wide range of sounds, this is a good addition to your arsenal.
