I've been playing this Meinl String Cajon for a year now and I love it. I do a lot of busking and street performing on the streets of rainy downtown Seattle and the rubber feet on the bottom make it safe for me to play it on any floor/ pavement surface. I've used the cajon in the studio and found that it works best with the mic almost in the hole of the back side of the drum (or "tapa" if you want to get technical). When I bought this cajon it came with a castanet which I use a ton when playing. The large castanet can be used to give a sort of accent that will make a listener go "Whoa, now I'm listening." The cajon can be tuned which makes it better than any homemade cajon I can build, and the soft wood surface gives it a raw sound that you cannot find with carbon fiber. Im only 15, but I know that I'm going to stick with this cajon for a while.
