I first purchashed the Gibralter equivalent but noticed that the screws that hold the basket together would work themselves loose. So I brought it back and purchased the Meinl Steely II Conga Stand. This stand is simple in design and sturdy. The bolts and wing nuts are not cheap and the black finish on the entire stand is first rate.
Those confounded nuts keep falling off, and it's a pain to keep tightening them. The black finish also makes them very easy to lose. The stands hold the drum up securely and treat the drum very gently. It's a great deal for the price, but be prepared to tighten, tighten, tighten.
i had this before i bought my double stand and this stand is amazing, nice and sturdy black is a better color then that gold one. it seems to blend better the padding makes the congo sit nice and snug without scratching
