All of Luis' specifications have been achieved with the Meinl Artist Series Luis Conte Signature Congas. They combine the charm and sound of the old traditional Cuban drums with modern features and innovations. The conga drums are equipped with traditional rims and are mounted as close to the drum shell as possible, and—when combined with Meinl's True Skin buffalo heads—enable an even more controlled sound and easier tuning. This hand drum set includes an 11" quinto, an 11-3/4" conga, and a 12-1/2" tumba, as well as a free set of Luis Conte Free Ride Artist Series Bongos.

The Meinl Artist Series Luis Conte signature bongo drums are a great complement to any percussion setup. Their drum shells are made of wood from rubber trees and are adorned with True Skin cowhide heads that deliver great feel and warm tones. The Meinl bongos also feature black powder-coated traditional style hardware and a natural finish. Its traditional style woodblock connection between the 2 shells is what Luis Conte prefers on his bongo drums.

Grammy-winner Luis Conte is an acknowledged master of percussion. His celebrated drumming career includes touring and/or recording with some of the greatest names in contemporary music, including Madonna, Eric Clapton, James Taylor, Santana, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, Backstreet Boys, Ray Charles, and Cuban legends Arturo Sandoval and Cachao. He can also be heard on the scores and/or soundtracks to movies such as Mission Impossible, Rain Man, Disney's animated Tarzan, and many more.

Throughout 2004 Luis was on Phil Collins' "First Final Farewell Tour" complementing the band and Phil's music with tasteful and musical percussion parts. The tour has been captured on film and a brand new DVD, Phil Collins—Finally...The First Final Farewell Tour has been released.
