Great sound, and comfortable to play. The carrying bag had a broken zipper. I could have gotten that replaced, but I would have had to send everything back as a set. I decided to keep the bad bag, because I'm not willing to take a chance and get a different 'mediocre' looking drum. This drum is beautiful, and the etching on the copper is done very well. I agree with the first review, this drum wails! Super deep bass, and the edge does provide crisp tones that will be heard across town. If the carrying bag would have been easy to replace, I would rate this purchase a 10 of 10, or 5 stars.
We were very pleased with the quality of the drum engraving and the tone is great. My husband and I are both just starting to play and this drum has been fun. A very easy size and weight to use. The carry bag comes in very handy.
Upon closer inspection the drums aesthetic is mediocre. The etching on the copper is done very haphazardly. That is my only complaint, this drum wails! The rim is really comfortable with the rounded edge, provides crisp tones and will be heard across town. Gotta love that doumbek sound, it really sets you apart in a drum circle.
