Matrix has built its reputation on economical alternatives to higher-priced models. The MR500 Quartz Metronome features an easy-to-use dial, A440 reference pitch, 40-208 BPM tempo range, LED display, and a personal earphone.
I'm a beginning guitar player and this is exactly what I needed. It really helps me keep a steady accurate pace during string exerciese and then allows me to increase my pace the better I get (and see improvement). Also really helps with rests. I love the ease in which I can change the tempo with the dial. I looked at several different kinds but this seemed to fit exactly what I had in mind and is great for the price. Also I could not find it in store, but it was shipped to me very quickly. Only change I would change is to be able to adjust the volume, it has one level (it does have the option for no sound, and just a flashing LED light). I would like to be able to lower or raise the volume as needed. Other than that I love it, and really am glad I purchased this valuable tool. It really has helped.

Great metronome, operation is self explanatory. offers both light only and light&sound. the beats are even as it should be, and the clicks are just loud enough to hear (for piano) clearly but not too loud to be annoying.

This piece of state of the art technology has been what i've been looking for. Gives you a perfect audio loud enough to hear while playing your instrument whether it would be a Woodwind, Brass or even a piano. This is a great piece Of machinery and I would recommend it for each and everyone That reads this review. Saxophonist Alex Familia.

Every musician really does need a metronome, even if they are very good at rhythms. It helps learning pieces, at the very least. The only negative this metronome has is the lack of adjustable volume. However, this isn't really negative, because this simple tool has only two controls -- the power switch, and the adjustment for the beat. It will likely last a very long time as a result of not having much on it to break.
