I use it for practice. The action was too high.I took it back to GC and the
Guitar tech adjusted the action but still high and not easy to play.I am not
    100% happy with it.

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series Custom GPCPA5 Grand Performance Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Beautiful sound, Affordable price, stays in tune(even in alternate tunings), good fishman electronics, built in tuner. I love this guitar, the only problem is that if your hand is sweaty the neck feels a little bit sticky and slowish but other than that, awesome!

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series Custom GPCPA5 Grand Performance Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar is nice. I went in trying out guitars because it's what I do! I looked at the price and thought wow nice sound and low enough in cost to tour with. I am currently experimenting with it on a recording and like it a lot. I am messing w recording on a AKG 414 with a tube pre and direct plugging of the Fishman F1 into a tube pre and I am liking it. I think the Fishman F1 pickup produces a good sound for recording live which is one thing we do a lot of for videos and such. Well enough writing about it. Now go try one out!

This is my first higher end acoustic and it sounds great! It really shines when plugged in though, the pickup gives it a very nice bright rich sound which I enjoy a lot

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series Custom GPCPA5 Grand Performance Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had a Seagull forever that I love but it does not have a pickup and has had major wear and tear. I wanted a smaller body design, active pickup system, and a good solid sound for playing out in small venues.

This is a decent guitar for exactly that. I like the body size and the cut away. The neck feels good. The pickup has a good sound and the controls let me tweak it which is important since I am often plugging directly into the sound system of the venue.

The tone is not a full as my Seagull, but I knew that it would not be. I chose this one mainly for plugging it into a house system or amp and I think it sounds decent through those.

Overall a decent low-end Martin. If I had the money I probably would have gone with something the same style but in some better woods, but this one will get the job done.
