Great Buy

By James Wells

from Louisville, KY

I'm a beginner who has played guitar for one year. I fell in love with an all wood Martin, but family finances didn't justify spending $1K+ on a hobby. I finally purchased a Breedlove on clearance (unplayed on-line)trying to get what I wanted in my 2nd guitar. The Breedlove had issues with it's electronics and while visiting the store, I took the time to play a plethora of guitars, yet again. When I picked up this guitar I was just messing around, I knew it wasn't all solid wood, and I'd been led to believe HPL didn't match up to traditional laminates. Long story short. Fell in love with it and turned the Breedlove back in. I found its tone and sound wasn't matched by anything in its price range (which was gentler on my family budget)at the store that day. Love the Spartan looks and satin finish. Action and set up out of the box has greatly improved my play and is better out of the box than a buddy's Taylor 214 came.Hey, I can play some barre chords now. This Martin may never be an heirloom/auction item, but it plays well, satisfies my hobby interests, sees an occasional use at church, and for strumming around the house or plugged in at church, I've not found it lacking in any capacity.

Unbeatable combination of quality and price!

By Maggie

from Puyallup, WA

I don't have words to fully describe how much I love this guitar! I bought mine from Guitar Center almost four years ago after trying out more guitars than I could count in this price range (some more expensive as well). This Martin has exceptional sound quality both plugged in and acoustic. The tone has far more depth and richness than you'd expect from a smaller body. The small body is my favorite aesthetic aspect of the guitar--especially as a female guitarist. The action and intonation are impeccable, and the price just can't be beat. I didn't have any particular brand loyalty before my test run during the purchasing process, but if you're considering this Martin alongside any other brand in the price range, get this guitar. It definitely won't disappoint!

Very Nice Player

By Mark

from Rocklin, CA

This is an affordable Martin that is very durable with a great action. I also own several other guitars including a Gibson Songwriter. This Martin is the one I grab to just play. The tone and warmth is great and the 000 body is very easy to hold. I bought this guitar for a traveler, but find myself playing more while at home than than my Gibsons or Fender. If I lost this one, I would run down and get another immediately.
