Overview

Superior Martin craftsmanship and Fishman technology in a left-handed model. Martin has always made prudent use of natural resources, especially rare or endangered tonewoods. At the same time, they are committed to building guitars of superior tone and playability that are affordable to every guitarist. The X Series meets both of these criteria.

X Series Guitars feature patented high pressure laminate (HPL) back and sides with a solid Sitka spruce top, patented mortise and tenon neck construction, and professionally installed Fishman electronics. The result: great-sounding, great-playing guitars, that are environmentally friendly, and priced to fly out the door. This is one of Martin's best values ever. The X Series affirms Martin's commitment to providing an affordable and competitive option to players dedicated to live performance.

Martin's X Series 000X1AE Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar features the 000 platform, a smaller body design than the traditional dreadnought, producing full, robust sound. Pairing the Sitka spruce top with the HPL back and sides, the 000X1AE belts out rich clarity and plenty of projection. The Mortise& Tennon neck joint ensures optimal tone resonating from the instrument, while eliminating drop-off in the finer dynamics.

The stratabond neck is a multilayered wood creation, bonding layers of wood under extremely high pressure. The material is then carved and finished in a conventional manner. The end result is a very strong neck that provides definition and articulate sustain from note to note.

The modified low oval neck shape, 25.4" scale, 1-11/16" nut width, and 16" radius provide comfort and dexterity when performing intricate movements and progressions along the black Richlite fretboard.

This X Series model features proven Sonicore pick-up technology with the Fishman Sonitone system featuring "easy access" volume and tone controls conveniently and strategically located just inside the sound hole.

Dressed in a satin finish and featuring chrome tuners, chrome hardware, this guitar has the look and sound of a highly collectible Martin, but goes for a price that anyone can afford. Embrace the dream of owning your very own Martin guitar, at a price that is too good to pass up.

All X Series guitars arrive stage ready; just plug them in and play. All X Series guitars also include a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

Fantastic

By David Gelfuso

from IL

I got this guitar after a long search. The guy who helped me order it, Jake was incredibly helpful and spent over an hour making sure I got what I wanted. Now the guitar: right out of the box it came almost perfectly in tune (a half step down), it does not slip out of tune after hours and hours of playing-bending and strumming as hard as one could it will still be in tune. the action is perfect and the martin SP strings feel great even though normally I prefer Elixirs. It is loud and booming, the classic 000 shape is beautiful, it gives that perfect Clapton Unplugged bite and will sing with jazz chords and harmonics and suspended chording. this guitar is a great buy for the price. I will say that the Sonitone electronics sound good but my preamp inside the sound hole. BUT THE PREAMP was not connected to the inside of the guitar so it needs to be fixed, I'm currently in the process of getting it fixed but don't let that discourage you from getting it. Its a easy fix that is probably just from shipping. Buy this guitar, I love it.

For any lefty who's tired of settling- this is the guitar for you!

By CARA SMITH

from Houston, TX

As a left handed guitarist, it's always been difficult finding a guitar that fits into a criteria you can either enjoy or afford- but rarely both. The guitars I've loved have always been too expensive, or only available in a right handed model, and the lower-end guitars are just? meh. This guitar, though, came equipped with everything I was looking for. The body is extremely comfortable compared to a traditional dreadnaught (for someone 5'3", at least), it's got a gorgeous matte finish, the neck is just slightly thinner for easy playability, and it's got a fantastic, bright, pure tone that carries beautifully for an acoustic-electric. I would highly recommend this guitar to any lefty who's tired of settling for what's offered. Great price, beautiful instrument, and a brandname that speaks for itself.

5 star Name 3 star price 4 star sound

By carlos B

from NYC

This is not a bad guitar at all. It is comfortable, there was no fret buzz and the action was great right off the wall. Sure their are other guitars in the same price range that sound just as good, but if you're looking for a nice sounding, playable guitar with the Martin name, then maybe this is the one for you.

Great Name Brand, Non-impressive Model

By DJ

from Needham, Indiana

I was at my local Guitar Center playing this guitar, and it was very low-end. It was much difficult to play, compared to many Martins, or even other acoustic brand guitars. The fretboard was dissapointing. I would suggest spending your money on a better guitar, and trying it out before you buy it.
