The Standard Series D-35L Dreadnought Left-Handed Acoustic Guitar incorporates Martin's visually striking 3-piece back design, producing a strong bass tone that's ideal for rhythm playing. To accentuate the treble, Martin uses lighter 1/4 in. top braces. Bindings with extra side inlays and a bound ebony fingerboard add to this model's distinctive appeal. Reversed for left-handed playing!
The very first dreadnought guitars were designed and crafted by C. F. Martin & Co. in 1916, but marketed in Boston and New York exclusively under the Oliver Ditson brand. Originally made for Hawaiian slide playing style, the very first dreadnought made was a Model 222 shipped to Ditson in August of 1916. After Ditson went out of business in the early 1930s, Martin introduced the D-1 and D-2 dreadnoughts for standard playing style that would soon become Martin’s iconic D-18 and D-28 models. Over the past 100 years, the Martin dreadnought has helped define what an acoustic guitar can and should be, and subsequently, it has become one of the most popular acoustic guitar designs in the world.

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-35L Dreadnought Left-Handed Acoustic Guitar:
I love this guitar. I've been playing guitar for almost 30 years, i've owned or played most, alot of nice guitars out there. but never have i played or owned a guitar with so much mojo as this d-35. If your looking for an acoustic with texture, and dynamic potential, this is the one. As a lefty, our choices are sometimes slim, but all martins come in lefty models, and with no up charge! this thing will inspire you. i've owned a taylor 810 for 22 years, great guitar, but it never moved me like this martin. the martin's a little darker, more interesting overtones, more dynamic. i cant put the thing down! buy it.
