Overview

Historically, Martin's 21 styling has represented the simplest appointment level with rosewood back and sides and a spruce top. Introduced in 2007, Martin's OM-21 Special closely replicates this plain but beautiful style by blending rosewood bindings, a herringbone rosette, a nitrate tortoise pickguard and an ebony fingerboard and pyramid bridge. The D-21 Special Guitar shares identical appointments with the OM-21 Special, but in a dreadnought format. The resulting instrument offers Martin's legacy tone with classic style.

Great sounding/looking guitar

By Charley

from Urbana, Il.

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-21 Special Acoustic Guitar:

I just bought mine a few days ago...its my 3rd Martin including an HD-28. Great looking with the stained top. Playability is wonderfully easy. The neck is a hand full but great for fingerpicking and the sound is awesome as an accompaniment to a singer. If you play it and fingerpick you'll buy it and not regret it...I'll never part with mine !!!

Top of the line performance!

By David Brent

from Oregon City, OR

Comments about Martin Standard Series D-21 Special Acoustic Guitar:

Similar to other top of the line Martins in performance and playability with understated elegance. I love the aged toner color and black binding vs the white bindings on D-28 style which looks too bright. The neck is a handful which I am learning to appreciate vs the leaner necks of my Gibson and Taylor. This is a nice looking and very fine sounding instrument!
