Comments about Martin Road Series DRSGT Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Well, I tried and tried to find any reason to upgrade to a HD-28 or D-18 but I just couldn't justify spending the extra money just for a label that says Made in the USA vs Made in Mexico. It's a solid body made in Mexico but it's the sound that's incredible. I bought it to replace an old Takamine and I wanted a Martin acoustic-electric. At that time they had no upper line Martin's in stock that met that criteria. My salesman steered my towards the DRSGT, but when I looked at the price tag I thought "it can't sound all that good". WRONG!! This item was surprisingly fun to play and sounded fantastic. I was initially reluctant to pick it up based on the price tag but my salesperson, who plays semi-professionally, stated he plays one and he couldn't be happier with it. After playing it for a while I was very impressed. The quality and workmanship was top notch. It fit me well, was easy to play and the sound was typical "Martin". I compared it to more expensive Taylor's but the tone of the Martin was much more pleasing vs the "twangy" sound of the Taylor 400's and 600 models at half the price (or more). Still, after I purchased it I still frequently returned to store to play the more expensive D and HD models (none with electronics) but could not hear anything that could justify returning my DRSGT and spending the additional 1 to 2 thousand dollars just for the US label. I would close my eyes and just listen looking for that reason to return it and upgrade. Honestly, the more I play it the more I am am convinced that a more expensive Martin is unnecessary. I have the sound that is sings "Martin", and at that price I was able to add a Fishman Loudbox. I play it everyday and each time I do I am convinced that there was and is no reason to spend any more money that what I did. Try one and I think you'll see ( and hear) that you can have everything that is "Martin" without spending $2 to $4K.

2nd review oa a great guitar

By

Comments about Martin Road Series DRSGT Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I previously reviewed Martin DRSGT. Im finding it gets better each time you play because you and guitar become one--but I will recommend you pick up a guitar stand-not a good idea to lean against the wall when not storing in a case. Also guitar polish. Gibson pump polish is better then Martin polish-Bad odor.

Comments about Martin Road Series DRSGT Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I picked up the Martin DRSGT at Guitar Center today and can't seem to stop playing. This guitar is very user friendly. Great sound -great product. Martin guitars are quality products. I highly recommend owning one. The trouble is you have to let your fingers rest after a few hours. Thank -You Guitar Center.

Comments about Martin Road Series DRSGT Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've had this a couple weeks now, been playing it most every day. Easy action and rich, full-bodied dread sound, and the pickups sound pretty good too. I'm well-pleased. It even knows the same songs I do! Amazing!
