The Martin GPCPA1 acoustic-electric guitar combines that world-famous Martin sound with the contemporary playability of an electric guitar. Its unique body design blends a tight waist with a deep body. The end result is a tone that is well-defined, plus a massive amount of power and projection. Its solid Sitka spruce top is braced perfectly to give you a rich, full-bodied tone that is versatile enough for any musical situation. The body is rounded out with solid East Indian Rosewood back and sides to add the right amount of warmth and projection.

As the pinnacle of the Martin Performing Artist Series, this GPCPA1 was crafted to be a “players dream.” The GPCPA1 features a very playable mahogany neck with a Performing Artist neck taper. This precision-cut neck boasts a solid ebony fingerboard with abalone arrows and square position markets, and a 1-3/4” nut width, to give you the right amount of spacing between the strings.

Looking for electronics, the Martin GPCPA1 comes complete with an onboard Fishman F1 Aura+. This revolutionary pickup system is shipped from the factory in the "Easy Mode." Easy Mode gives you four factory presets: the traditional under-the-saddle pickup, and three sound images of the GPCPA1 played through some of the finest world-class microphones on the planet. All you have to do is plug-in and play. You’ll have a studio-quality sound right out of the box.

For nine world-class sound images, a dual three-band EQ, nine different types of compression, the ability to set the blend between the sound of the guitar and microphone image, and an anti-feedback eliminator. This instrument integrates state-of-the-art electronics, striking aesthetic features, and incredible playability in an instrument that will not only inspire you to play, but be the perfect addition to any fine guitar collection.

Includes hardshell case.

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series GPCPA1 Plus Grand Performer Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Purchased in Oct 2015 and started having problems first part of Nov. and now its January and the problem continues. Martin customer service is terrible. They just keep giving me the run around and sending me to different service centers. I have owned this guitar for 3-1/2 months but it has been in my possession for maybe 3 weeks. Stay away from this one.

Beautiful and sounds like a dream

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series GPCPA1 Plus Grand Performer Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I tried at least 15 - 20 acoustic/electrics from every brand, this is the best of them all. I know its all opinion but this guitar to me is exactly what I am looking for. Plays easy, full rich tone, and looks amazing. The wood resonates perfectly . Some acoustic guitars sound tinny (treble) or too bassy, this is the perfect combination of the two. Built in tuner works great and it also bypasses the pickup when plugged in. Because there is nothing more annoying than the tuning song lol Just like anything it has a downside. The tone adjustment knob does not have a min and max it just continues to rotate when turning. This makes it very hard to know exactly where you are in the adjustment range.

    Beautiful work of Art

    from Findlay, OH

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series GPCPA1 Plus Grand Performer Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I had played this guitar at my local Guitar Center store and fell in love with the guitar. They always say that when you pick up the right guitar for you, you will just know. Well, that was true for me. It was comfortable, beautiful and put out the best sound of all of the guitars I had tried out. It was pretty pricy, and I am a very cautious person so I didn't buy it right away. After being drawn back to this particular guitar every time I visited the store over the past year, I just couldn't shake the love affair I had with this guitar. I purchased it and had it shipped to me and there begins our story together, lol. It comes with a brown hard case that has an alligator skin finish. The guitar fits snuggly inside the case. With a solid spruce top and rosewood sides, back, neck and fretboard it plays beautifully. It has a full body sound when strummed. A perfect balance, not too pitchy and not too much base, just right. The only thing that I had to have changed on the guitar was the strings. Martin uses their own strings and I found them to have kind of a sticky feel to them so it made it hard for me to move up and down the fret board while playing. So the only thing I would suggest when buying this guitar, would be to maybe purchase some strings that you like. And if you do not already play with 13 gauge strings, you will have to have the guitar set up for you to change to a lighter gauge as well. This guitar also comes with a DVD to show you how to use the Fishman F1+ for when you want to plug into an amp. Not that you need it, the guitar puts out a very powerful crisp, clear sound all on it's own no matter what style of music you play. There just isn't enough I can say about this guitar, it far exceeded my expectations. If I could give it 10 stars I would. Great job Martin for putting out such a quality guitar!!

    What a Guitar !

    from Margate, NJ

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series GPCPA1 Plus Grand Performer Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I ordered this guitar after I visited my local Guitar Center and found they didn't carry the higher end Martin's. I ordered this guitar, having it shipped to the store. I returned to check it out and when I opened the beautiful hard case, a shinny new Martin was waiting to be played. When I played a few chords, I put it back in the case and took it home. What a beautiful sound. The Fishman Pick Up sounds great with plenty of options. This explains why the professional musicians we have grown up with all play Martin Guitars. This will be with me for a very, very long time. Worth every penny.
