The DCPA4 Dreadnought Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar features a cutaway and is constructed with solid tonewoods. The back and sides are matched from African sapele, similar in appearance and tone to mahogany. Bookmatched Sitka spruce soundboards utilize Martin's Hybrid "A-Frame" scalloped bracing.
The DCPA4 features a slim, more parallel taper at the 12th fret, allowing for a more comfortable playing width up the neck. The bridge spacing is also modified to 2 3/16" - splitting the difference between Martin's two traditional spacings.
Along with the look, feel, and enhanced performance of Martin's existing Performing Artist Series models, the DCPA4 also features the new, simplified Fishman F1 Analog electronics system. Includes case.

Comments about Martin Performing Artist Series DCPA4 Dreadnought Left-Handed Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Folks, this is an excellent guitar without the fancy decorations. After a couple weeks, I'm firmly convinced you get all the important attributes of Martin quality and tone in this guitar, even though its much less than $2000. I might have been lucky but the factory action is considerably better than I'd have expected right out of the box - I will not need a local setup. And yet, I'm not getting any fret buzz unless I really push it. Also, I now believe what distinguishes Martin from Taylor is that Martins produce a little bit more powerful sound when needed and yet warmer tones but that may be more in the dreadnaught design versus other box designs. My first Martin and now I'm hooked.
