The only acoustic string I use

Beautiful acoustic tune for strumming and picking, looooong life span, able to withstand my sweaty hands makes this the only acoustic strings I use.

I've been using these strings since I started playing guitar. I liked them at first; they have a fairly bright sound and good feel... to a beginner's ears and fingers. A few months ago I tried out Martin Silk and Steels. I loved them. Yesterday I changed out my strings and put on these- the Martin lights. Now that I've been playing for a while, I can hear that the sound clangy and hollow. I was trying to tune them today and play with a capo on... it seems like already the intonation is off. These are good beginner strings and they're very durable (I've never once broken a string), but once you've been playing for a while, I'd say move on.

Comments about Martin MSP4100 SP Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Strings:

I have used the strings by Martin many times. Great strings. However I ordered strings when I placed an ordr for A TWELVE STRING. I was sent a set for a SIX STRING. . I haven't received the guitar yet but I needed extra strings for the TWELVE STRING GUITAT. not a SIX STRING GUITAR. what are you going to do about that. Thanks Robert Roy

These strings sound great on both my Martin D-38 and my Guild M-20. Full tone, great bass sound, and they last!

Cost effective/no compromise!

Comments about Martin MSP4100 SP Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Strings:

I love the Martin Acoustic SP Phosphor Bronze Strings. In the summer I play outdoor shows in Ocean areas and the salt air does a job on strings! The SP's stay bright and fresh and for the money they can't be beat.

Incomparable

By Matt Miller

from Georgia

Comments about Martin MSP4100 SP Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Strings:

I've tried just about every string on the market with the exception of only a few. These are THE BEST in my opinion. they make my guitar absolutely sing. Its as though this is how the guitar was intended to sound. No matter what acoustic I put these strings on, it seems to improve the tone drastically. the only problem I ever have is the longevity. But what can I say, I drink a lot of sodas and energy drinks and play for hours at a time. I believe my sweat would eat through a fence. Amazing strings. buy them.

String Perfection

By JAMES ASHCRAFT

from Texas

Comments about Martin MSP4100 SP Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Strings:

I have tried almost every brand of reputable strings on the market, but the Martin 4100's are the best in quality, bar none. I play them regularly on my Takamine Jumbo 6 string, and they just sound fabulous! I also play them on my 2 Yamaha's, and am equally satisfied. I play 5-7 days a week, 1-3 hours per day, and I could not be happier with the sound quality these strings produce.

glad i only bought 1 pack

By EMIL SANTO

Comments about Martin MSP4100 SP Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Strings:

I like trying differnt strings. These were the worst sounding ones i have tried to date. it made my hummingbird sound like a cheap dime store guitar. i tried to play them for a hour to see if the sound would change. they are overly bright, sound clangy. for 9.00 i expected something better. i have tried the cheap fender 4.00 a pack strings and they are way better than these. also another thing i dont like is the strings are not packed seperatley. mixed 2 in a pack, say a low e and a b string. takes to long to sort out.

Decent strings so far, terrible packaging.

By Maurice

from St. Louis, MO

Comments about Martin MSP4100 SP Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Strings:

I restrung my Martin 000X1AE after nearly two months of daily usage and i'm happy (thus far) with the results. The tone is sharp and crisp with a touch of shimmer to it. My only gripe is with the packaging-Why didn't they just sort each string in its own pouch? Their site says they are trying to be "environmentally conscious", but i'm sure adding three more paper pouches to the pack wouldn't have hurt anything as i'm sure they waste more than enough trees while making their guitars. Also, if you're not careful, the strings will flop out the pack and could potentially crimp.

really good strings

By Jojo

from Montgomery, AL

Comments about Martin MSP4100 SP Phosphor Bronze Light Acoustic Strings:

I've used Elixir Phosphor Bronze for years and have always been happy with it. However, I tend to break strings quite often (once every other week). I've even replaced the saddle. It got to where it was getting too expensive to keep using Elixir. I started experimenting with different brands of light strings - long process, short explanation, the SP4100 satisfied my picky taste. The SP hold it's tune for a long time - they seem to last longer, and I don't break them as much. For price and value, I can't hear much difference between the SP and Elixir.
