Overview

Guages: .012 .015 .025 .031 .041 .054

Martin’s proprietary Nickel/Copper alloy blend wrap wire provides for a reduced pick attack and allows the guitar’s tonewoods to be heard, not overshadowed. It offers a uniquely mellow, yet crisp, sound. Martin’s wrap is a solid Nickel/Copper blend, not nickel-plated, meaning there is no chance for defects to allow for corrosion. Martin's proprietary wrap is naturally strong and corrosion-resistant, so much so that it has been used in the propeller of dreadnought battleships and various machinery and tooling applications.

Comments about Martin MM12 Retro Series Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I've got these on my Gibson J15; the previous strings were a bronze type and made the guitar sound too bright and harsh. For a J45(or J15 in my case) these strings bring out the tone of the guitar better. I'm sold on these for my J45's and J15!

Comments about Martin MM12 Retro Series Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

These strings really bring out the resonance and brightness, particularly with my Martin D-18 Authentic (a 1939 reproduction).
These are the only strings that will go on this acoustic guitar!

Comments about Martin MM12 Retro Series Light Acoustic Guitar Strings:

I feel obligated to mention that I am effectively a novice. I'm still re-learning to play because Real Life got in the way and forced a long layoff. Too, I don't know what you like or whether these strings will fit your needs, but I like the sound I get with them. I play mostly country, folk, and early (1950s and 1960s) rock and pop songs because that's music with which I grew up. I also haven't had them long enough to judge whether they're long lasting, but I guess they'll last as long as I need them before I have to replace them. Can't realistically ask for more.
