My Favorite Acoustic Strings!

By Alan

from Denver, CO

After trying dozens of different brands of strings I keep coming back to Martin phosphor bronze custom lights. They have a very good balance of playability and warmth and I find the bass to be a bit deeper with these Martin M535 Traditional Phosphor Bronze strings than with the SP MSP4050's. From a pure tone point of view, at least on my Martin D-28, I think the Martin Marquis Lights sound the best overall. Very deep bass and sweet, not shrill highs, but (after 30 years of trying) I just can't seem to play the .012's as well as the .011's. So for now (until Marquis PB become available in .011's) I find the Martin Traditional M535 the very best strings for me. Hope this helps in your decision making process! :)

I Love These Strings !!!!

By JEFF OSGOOD

from Woonsocket, RI

After using Fender 12-52's on my Squier SA-100 for the last 3 months, I needed a change because while they sounded good, they would lose their tone after 3-4 days and I would have to change them thus costing me money. I ended up ordering a 6 pack of these Martins after reading a lot of great reviews about them and decided to try them out for myself. I was not disappointed in the least. These have to be the best sounding strings I have ever heard on any Acoustic guitar which I have ever played on. They have just the right amount of highs and bass and also stay in tune and are long lasting as well. Plus being 11 gauge, they are much easier on my fingers. I won't use anything else from now on for my acoustic but these. They're great !!!!

Amazing strings -- for an amazing price!

By Forrest Cobb

from Atlanta, GA

These strings are fantastic on my Takamine GS330s. From the first strum, the warmth and brightness from these strings lit up the guitar. In my opinion, custom light is the perfect weight--no buzzing or problems anywhere on the neck. These strings beat the tone of strings that cost several times as much. For the price, you can get several sets of these strings for the cost of a single set of coated strings, but I haven't experienced any issues with durability. I highly recommend these strings for any acoustic--and for the price, you can't beat it!
