I have an Encore classical guitar I bought from a pawn shop many years ago as a beater/camping/knock around. Trust me it has been knocked around and used as a toy for grandkids to mess with and a place for sticky stickers that came in junk mail. As the original strings would break I replaced them with any used leftover metal strings from my Telecaster. A change of heart caused me to rescue this critter with a new Tusg nut /new tuning keys, thorough cleaning and a set of these Martin (silver) m120 plain end strings...with a Tusq bridge in it's future..we have nice playing and sounding little guitar. She shined up real nice and I'd take her to the prom ! I have used Martin electric strings on my 72 Tele also and really like them. I would reccomend giving these strings a shot. You can't get a happy meal for this kinda money (teehee)

The strings felt amazing the moment I pulled them out of the package. The were very silky and smooth, and I really loved the silver finish on them. Unfortunately, I never got to even get them up to tension, because the D string unwound itself before I could get it to pitch, and the high E string broke where it met the bridge. There was enough winding at the top for me to still use the high E but it would have made the string have very few windings around the post which could cause intonation problems.

In short, I was really excited about these strings but they just didn't met my expectations. I still give them three stars because the strings seem like they would have been amazing if they hadn't broken. Maybe I just got a lemon?

Comments about Martin M120 80/20 Bronze Plain-End High Tension Nylon Classic Guitar Strings:

First 2 sets the A and D wound strings came apart after a couple of weeks. The third set lasted well over a year. These strings are on my $cheap
Gremlin from St. Vincent De Paul that sits on a stand in front of a window (open in the summer). I play with this guitar 3 or 4 days a week - mainly I play electrics. I'm very satisfied with the longevity & the way they stay in tune.

Comments about Martin M120 80/20 Bronze Plain-End High Tension Nylon Classic Guitar Strings:

I'm not a classical player, but I do like to keep a fresh set of strings on my classical for when the urge to play hits me. I hate cheap strings, and hate changing as set of strings that has only been played for a couple of hours because they have gone dead. these were just what I wanted. Good value, and good enough quality to stay bright for a while. I'm sure the consummate classical snob would have plenty of issues with these, but for my taste, my economy instrument, and my budget, I will definitely use them again.

The lower strings were easy to tie, however, the strings for the 3 higher notes were tough for me. Great tone.

Comments about Martin M120 80/20 Bronze Plain-End High Tension Nylon Classic Guitar Strings:

I have been playing guitar on & off stage for about 40 years, so I've changed a few sets of strings. I just bought my first classical guitar (Gremlin - cheap) and it needed strings. I put these on and the guitar sounds great - maybe a little dead on the plains, but the wound strings really boom. After about 2 weeks the "A" string unravelled at the tuning key so I got 2 sets this time. I'llsee how they last.

                BACKORDER!

It would have been much better to know they were out of stock BEFORE I paid. I had to wait 3 weeks... and of course they got lost in the mail, another 2 weeks.

Thanks to great help from MF CUSTOMER SERVICE, they finally arrived.

I am still upset that the out-of-stock situation wasn't noted until AFTER the paymanet was made. I'm sure MF's inventory system is capable of more current information.
