This guitar is not only light, but it sounds and looks amazing. I would highly recommend it to anyone willing to pay a little extra. Its worth every penny!
I have never heard such an amazing guitar in my life. For the price, it is unbeatable. I went into a guitar center in my area and played this Martin, and you just cannot compare it. I went in looking for an acoustic-electric guitar that had the warm sound an acoustic projects but not the twangyness that a lot of acoustic-electrics project (Taylor is decent, but the twang just drives me crazy). If your looking for a top-quality acoustic-electric guitar with the warm tone of an acoustic guitar and still sounds great plugged into the amp, get this. Don't think twice, you won't regret your purchase..trust me.
Great Guitar for the money. I've played this guitar almost every day for the past 7 years and I love it. The Jett Black HPL textured finish can not be scratched so it still looks new even with no pick guard. The Fishman active electronics sound great and It's flat black finish gives it a unique look that people will talk about. I was also very impressed with the jumbo frets that still have many years of life in them. This guitar is a total work horse.
When I first purchased this guitar I loved the sound. However, as time has gone by, my opinion has changed dramatically. On the bright side, I like the way the fret board feels. And I like the way the instrument looks but there are a number of negatives. The instrument is unbalanced. The headstock wants to fall down if you let go of the neck. I should also mention that the brand name actually fell off the headstock. One day I found little gold letters all over the floor of my studio Then the pickup wiring came unglued, causing the wires to vibrate against the body. Now I find that I cannot keep it set up properly. I'm constantly plagued by fret buzz and the need to adjust the truss rod.(I should point out, I always had this done by a professional) I would not buy this instrument again or recommend that you purchase one.
EXTREMLY sensitive to humidity!!!!I left this guitar in a closet for 4 days and the E-string wont even play. when I got this guitar it was perfect, it sounded great plugged in, great harmonics and everything. Now when i plug itinto the amp it just buzzes so loud and the guitar can not be heard. Great guitar but watch out.
Considering the price this guitar is difficult to fault. The action and resonnance and harmonics are superb. Playing live or recorded it is probably the best Martin I have in my collection.
