A classic since its 1931 debut, the Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar has a solid Sitka spruce top with glossy finish, special East Indian rosewood for the polished back and sides, and genuine ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. With its rich, resonant warmth and punchy volume, it is particularly well-suited to music styles requiring loud, powerful rhythm accompaniment.

This guitar had amazing volume, sound and and INCREDIBLE action! I loved it until I found it is hard to finger pick, and pretty much single notes, itd take some time to get used to with a pick, but finger picking...I'm not too sure...
I don't see how a guitar can get much better than this. The Martin d-28. I own some other acoustics, and although I love them dearly, the sound just isn't like my Martin. It is so deep and crisp and cutting. Definately, the tool for my singer-songwriter work. I hope I can keep it for a long time.
Martin makes the world's best acoustic guitars, and the d28 is their flagship. The no-frills d28 has been a favorite amongst country singers, singer-songwriters, and folk artists alike. The slanted bridge favors the lower register strings providing rich low end complimenting solo vocals really well. The d28 has a pure and uncolored sound, the tone is rich and clear - definitely worth giving a try.
This guitar has great action, and it has a great sound. It stays in tune very well, and being a Martin, it of course is made of the best materials and with the utmost care. I love this instrument.
