The Martin OMC-Aura Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a dealer exclusive and comes with custom Fishman Aura electronics engineered specifically for you. The Martin 000 body is joined at the 14th fret using all-solid wood construction and a mortise/tenon neck joint. Solid tonewoods are used throughout and include a Sitka spruce top and East Indian rosewood for the back and sides. The elegance of this beauty is evident, but not overstated with tasteful touches like a 45-pearl rosette and intricate body binding. The comfortable neck has a smooth ebony fingerboard with attactive hexagon outlines in pearl. The bridge and headplate are also ebony with the C.F. Martin inlayed in pearl. Includes case.
Fishman F-1 Aura Plus with Easy Model and Performance Mode
After the guitar is finished at Martin's factory, it is sent to Fishman where they create and install its special onboard preamp with customized sounds using different high-end microphones. The Fishman F-1 Aura Plus has two operating modes, Easy and Performance. The Easy Mode has four custom sound images created just for this guitar. Performance Mode goes deeper with nine microphone images, dual 3-band EQ, nine different compressions, anti feedback, and a blending capability between the microphone and acoustic body sound.

This was my first Martin. I shopped around trying all the different sizes and shapes for more than a month after I got serious about buying. The moment I tried this model I was swept away. I almost bought it on the spot, but left to make the rounds of all the available models again to make fully certain, and sure enough, this was The One. Fit and finish are typical of what Martins are known for, ie, flawless. I don't need to talk about the sound. Its a Martin. Its everything I ever wanted a Martin to sound like. The OM size fit me perfectly, and I liked the full 25.5 scale neck as opposed to the shorter scale of the 000 body. The cutaway is great and the Aura preamp works well and sounds amazing. This model is equipped with the Aura+ system: 2 knobs and a round display, very minimalist in looks but both knobs serve as push buttons as well as turning knobs, so between the two, you get a myriad of different setting combinations plus a tuner. Luckily, it also features an "Easy" mode and a "Performance" mode. The Easy mode is much simpler to use and is appropriate for most plugged in conditions. I like the brightness and volume of the rosewood back and sides as opposed to mahogany in some other models. That is of course purely a matter of taste. I also heard that the tops for this model were the pick of the crop, and by looking, you can tell the grain is very tight and even, no stray marks or imperfections under the nitro finish. Some guitarists worry about the mortise and tenon neck, (vs the dovetail on some other models), but its glued, its as one, I say you'll never notice. The 1 3/4" nut works well for fingerstyle or flat picking and despite the OM/000 body size, it has plenty of volume and bass. I almost forgot to mention the bling - I was not shopping for a guitar with bling. I wanted my hard earned money to go into the construction of the musical parts of the guitar like the tonewoods, not the shiny parts. But since I did settle on this guitar, I have to say, the mother-of-pearl appointments, gold hardware and ebony tuning knobs, fretboard and bridge are a definite plus. One of my fears early on was that the bling would be too much but it has grown on me and it definitely makes the guitar stand out. I love it now. It has top and bottom body binding, bound neck, hexagonal mother of pearl fret markers and mother of pearl inlay around the top binding and sound hole and a couple more hexagonal mother of pearl inlays on the bridge for good measure. Its like a work of art, but of course, they all are. It plays like buttah and I've had it for almost a month and I have yet to play any of my other guitars again, (acoustic, electric, classical, plus a mandolin, a couple of ukuleles and some basses). I don't like the molded plastic case, but an upgrade was another $150 so I went with what came with it. It works just fine. This guitar is no longer in production. Check it out if its still available where you are. Its worth every penny.
I purchased this new Omcaura Cet Wc Ae Om in the Raleigh, NC store this past Friday. I looks beautiful, it sounds wonderful, and plays like a dream. Great Guitar Center price for wuch an excelent insturment. My guitar instructor also loved it and want me to only play this one, I own other guitars. I'm so very happy to own this guitar.
