The Martin 000-15M Cutaway Acoustic-Electric Guitar is a modern marvel steeped in historical vibe. Giving it that old school feel is a traditional 000-14 body with Old style 18 with 30 Style mult-color rope rosette, a modified low oval with Performing Artist taper neck, an East Indian rosewood standard belly bridge, and solid headstock. Taking it into modern times is a 2-1/8" cutaway and Fishman F1 Aura pickup system with 3-band EQ and tuner to accurately represent the guitar's naturally great tones when you plug in. Other great appointments include a diamond and squares pearl fingerboard inlay, two-way adjustable truss rod, Grover nickel V97-18NA StaTite tuners, and a faux tortoise pickguard.

Comments about Martin Custom GPC15M Acoustic-Electric Guitar:
Let's get the bad out of the way, first. I got this from the GC store. There was no battery included for the audio system. The guitar had not been set up, at all, and was basically unplayable. Folks--Martin expects their Dealers to set up the guitar for the buyer--they don't expect the buyer to set it up themselves. My faith in my ability to rectify this situation is the only reason I proceeded with the deal. Why would I do this? Well, I love Martin guitars. I wanted an all HOG instrument, and while the traditional 000-15 models are pretty nice, this one had the GPCPA body style with the PA neck, AND the Aura system, which is nice for amplify purposes, PLUS it had a cutaway, which is nice if you play up the neck. I was looking for the 000-15e retro model, but they didn't have one in the store, and although generally I prefer short scale guitars, the neck on this one is nice enough that I don't notice it much.
Inside the sound hole, the text indicates Martin Custom. You won't find this model with these features listed in the Martin catalog. It is a set of custom features you just can't find anywhere else. At this price point, it's a value that cannot be beat. Made in the USA. The USA, folks. After setting the thing up, it's a Joy to play. I have 2 other Martins and a Taylor, so this isn't my first axe. I've been learning to play since 1964, and I am making a little progress. I've been at it seems like a long time, now.
