The CS-D28-12 is a gorgeous 14-fret dreadnought highlighted by its Cocobolo back and sides, and Adirondack spruce top. Cocobolo is a rare and dense tonewood from Mexico that delivers beautiful bell-like tones. The custom model features two way trussrod, forward shifted and scalloped bracing along with herringbone trim. Also included on the CS-D28-12 and new for 2012 is the Custom Shop Thin Finish package. Gorgeous sound. Modest, yet striking looks.

Comments about Martin Custom CS-D28-12 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar:

I went into GC last weekend to look at D41's and D42's, and ended up coming back home with this beautiful instrument. The tone from the Cocobolo back and Adirondack spruce top is incredible. Very clear highs, booming lows. All in all this guitar can play as loud of as soft as you want to go, and it holds perfect balance at any volume. Very modest looks (with the exception of the beautiful grain of the wood) makes it even better --- tasteful fretboard inlays, and none of the ugly hexagons from the d45 and d41. If you're going to PLAY and not just COLLECT, pay more for the wood and less for the inlays. It's quite simply the best sounding guitar that I've ever picked up.
