This is the case I have for my Martin HD28. Nice case! Sturdy, well made. The accessories pocket inside is big enough to fit lots of goodies! Very plush interior. Latches are sturdy, have held up well, and the finish on them has not worn at all. Well worth the price to protect your guitar!

I enjoy my new case. I did have to return the initial case as it was cracked towards the top. Luckily, I have a Guitar Center nearby and they made the return and re-order very easy. The case itself is very functional. It is very common for reviews to point out flaws and for me, the one flaw is that the case does not open very far. It barely goes beyond 45 degrees which makes me cautious when removing or replacing my Martin guitar. This has nothing to do with the service from Guitar Center obviously - manufacturing. Also, the inner compartment is not very deep. Not really an issue just when compared to other guitar cases.

Comments about Martin 640 Dreadnought Hardshell Case:

I ordered this case for my Martin guitar because my old case was worn out.
The picture on the website clearly shows a case with a rich green interior color.
The case I received has a dull dark blue interior. I did not have time to return
the case a purchase another one, so I'll have to put up with it. Very disappointed.

Comments about Martin 640 Dreadnought Hardshell Case:

I don't know why people are giving this case a bad review. It is a well made case and the case that all $3,000+ Martin guitar come with. I have a D-15 and it came with a Martin 345 style. This is way better for protecting your wood instrument. In my opinion all guitars should come with this case sold at $1,000 or more. Considering the amount of money you are spending on a guitar and the fact that the price of the 640 compared to the 345 is only a $40 difference it is kinda a slap in the face spending $1,800 on a D-15 and not getting this case with it.

Excellent case which comes with your purchase of a D-28 Martin. CFMartin & Co. is embossed on the outer shell.

Comments about Martin 640 Dreadnought Hardshell Case:

Bought this case to replace an old heavier wooden case. My 1969 D18 fits in snugly, the old case was actually a bit too large for the guitar. This case is light and easy to carry, all of the latches, hinges, etc. work with ease. I like the design of it and am glad that I bought it.
The online purchase from Guitar Center was easy. The case arrived when expected...happy customer here!

I have a dreadnought dxk2 and it fits perfectly in this case. This case is solid and I like the Martin logo on the front. I didn't see any reason to not give it five stars.

Plastic cases hold humidity better and with a Martin logo

Comments about Martin 640 Dreadnought Hardshell Case:

Guitar sleeps inside it and You can condition the case ready for humidifying by keeping it closed at all times and I notice the guitar takes most of the humidity and not the case like the wooden versions. It also has a cool effect with a CF Martin molded in.
