Love the sound!

By karen

Comments about Martin 2014 Road Series DRS2 Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I was not looking for a Martin or a dread but I was looking for a great feeling neck and a deep, projecting bass. When the sales person at GC put this Martin in my hands I was immediately taken by the sound. The bass notes rang easily but didn't overwhelm. The strummed sound was full and rich. The fingerboard and neck feel so natural...just right for me. This guitar has a satin finish and I am not crazy about satin finishes but...it is really growing on me. The guitar is beautifully made...no flaws I can find yet anyway. The Fishman pre amp does not have EQ...it is volume and bass/treble. As I rarely use it that is fine for me. I might upgrade to another Fishman at some point but not yet. Anyway, I am falling for this guitar more and more as I play it. It is light, comfortable and I just love the sound. It comes with a great hard case with a soft plush lining. All in all...I think it is a great ax!

Great guitar!

Comments about Martin 2014 Road Series DRS2 Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar, I tried a couple of other Martins under a grand, but this definitely stood out. To move along the neck is very smooth. It has a very rich sound. I have had no issues with it quality wise, although I have owned it for 4 months or so. Looks really great and plays better.

Excellent value, beautiful guitar

By CYNTHIA FOX

Comments about Martin 2014 Road Series DRS2 Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this guitar on sale for about $880 with tax. It's SO beautiful.... The notes ring out and the sound keeps getting better and better as the wood starts to "loosen up". I started learning on a very cheap laminate Epiphone acoustic and there's a huge difference in sound and quality when you step up to a Martin. Especially with regards to the low action. I love that the pickup/dials are hidden inside the guitar, easily accessible. It looks like an acoustic guitar and you can't tell that it's also electric. I don't like A/E's cuz they usually have the tuner and dials on the body and I think it ruins the look. (this guitar sounds amazing through an amp by the way!) It comes with a super high quality case and you have to take very good care of this instrument. Don't leave it out and let it get dried out or it will get damaged. I always keep mine in the case. This is a very high end entry level all wood guitar. I'm completely sold on Martin Guitars and can't wait to purchase a 28 or 45. The build quality is excellent and it's a guitar you can feel really proud of owning. It will get you into a "Pro" state of mind with your playing...

Comments about Martin 2014 Road Series DRS2 Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Martin Road Series DRS2.I was Lucky enough to purchase a lightly used one.The most affordable guitar that I own. I use the word affordable because this is anything but a cheap guitar, sounds is very good, plays well.Basic yet blooming with awesome.I play Americana and Bluegrass, this guitar suits those well.Stratabond Neck Is Rough to the touch not bad but distracting.Literally have not put this guitar down since it came earlier today.Took the time this evening to write this review. I could go on and on about how great this guitar is but you really should just go try one for yourself you will not regret it some of the best money I've spent this year.I should mention that this guitar does not sound like my other Martin guitar, its modern and American very loud.A nice addition to any guitar collection, as well as just a lovely guitar to play. This guitar sounds really good with my normal guitar amp.I think this is an awesome thing this guitar actually sounds good through a guitar amp. A fantastic guitar,I can't say enough good things about it. Happy picking, remember it's all about the experience.

Excellent sound

By JON NONES

from Seattle, WA

Comments about Martin 2014 Road Series DRS2 Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Bought this guitar today and love the sound. I've been playing for 20 years, and been using a 20-year old Fender for that long. I got lucky with fantastic projection and bass with the Fender, so I was looking for something to have those two qualities. This Martin has those and more. The tone is so well blended unplugged, and it sounds fantastic when plugged in--more bass. I might even raise the action a little to get more projection. For someone that plays live at bars and wineries about once a month, it's a very solid buy for under $1000.

Lovin' it

By Joseph W. Brooks

Comments about Martin 2014 Road Series DRS2 Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

When the Guys at Guitar Center ask me, "How do you like it?" All I can say is,"I love it!" This is my first Martin guitar and the 3rd guitar I've bought from Guitar center in Tulsa, OK. It is the best sounding acoustic guitar I've ever owned. The feel of the neck is very smooth and easy to fret. The electronics are the best I've used before. The deep rich tones of the lower strings are attention getting. The sweetness of the highs are wonderful. I've played other acoustic electrics, but this one is far superior. The first time I plugged it in to my Dean Markley Amp, I was really impressed with the way it sounded. Some of the guitars I've tried just didn't sound great plugged in. Unplugged they wre fine. My New Martin DRS2 sounds just as good either way. Martin and Guitar Center, Keep up the Good Work. A Big Thank You to Dale and Don in Tulsa.
