The Martin DC-15ME Acoustic-Electric Guitar with Case is constructed of genuine solid mahogany for a warm, full tone with distinctive character. This Martin D 14-fret dreadnought with cutaway also features a bone nut and saddle, diamond & square fingerboard inlays, and a satin finish. The mahogany neck with solid East Indian rosewood fingerboard adds to the guitar's acoustic warmth. If you need to go electric, the Shadow NanoMag Pickup is ready for faithful sound reproduction with volume and tone controls discretely mounted inside the soundhole.

Structure of the Shadow NanoMag Pickup
NanoMAG combines various, high-quality Samarium Cobalt magnets with an air coil and active electronics, all encased within the smallest of packages. The small size of the NanoMAG pickup allows for installation at the end of the fingerboard. Because of its subtle construction, the NanoMAG mounts nearly invisibly and without detracting from an instruments aesthetic appearance. Moreover, epoxy resin and a special, highly conductive silver-platinum plating provide a shield that, in combination with active electronics, helps transmit a hum-free, low impedance output signal.

Sound Characteristics of the NanoMAG Pickup
The NanoMAGs low impedance output, responsible for an utterly noise-free signal with excellent dynamics, also maintains perfect balance among strings. Low impedance signals, in contrast to high impedance, have the advantage of much greater power capacity, which makes them less sensitive to disturbances. In other words, low impedance signals deliver more power, less noise and, as a result, simply sound better. The NanoMAGs open sound thus carries over what is so essential to an acoustic feel: overtones and harmonics of a completely natural sounding character. Includes case.

Great guitar

By Ken

from Alabaster, AL

Comments about Martin 15 Series DC-15ME Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I can't get enough playing time in on this brown beauty. I was drawn to the DC15ME's clean look and had an opportunity to play one before ordering mine online. It came tuned a half step down and was solid with that tuning out of the case. The feel is as amazing as the sound coming out of this Martin 15 series guitar. It is extraordinary light in the hand so much so that you would not think you were holding a dread. But the sound is full and rich. Broad spectrum coverage with separation and clarity that are a bench mark with Martin guitars (IE the 'Martin' sound). What haven't I covered here? OH tuned it up to concert pitch and after two plus weeks of regular play I've barely had to touch the tuning on it. Intonation is rock solid and it is a joy to play with or without a capo on it. Sound wise what I noticed immediately and continue to be impressed with on the DC15ME is that it doesn't walk up to a note it grabs it and stays with it from the get go so there is a pleasant punch to the strings as the bite into a fresh note. I am not a great guitarist. I have a lot of love for the instrument but have had no direct instruction on technique but for a back woods player that spent his life in the top 5 frets this guitar has inspired me to be all over the fret board. The NanoMAG really reproduces the punchy clarity of the 15 series faithfully. I really wasn't sure about the electronics on this until I had a chance to really play with it at home but I can play this without my LR Baggs Venue Preamp/di just fine directly though my PA. BEAUTIFUL! I'm not one to say never very often as things tend to change over time and what we think today will never change ultimately does. But taking that into consideration regardless of if I have the opportunity to scale up in the future to a more expensive guitar some time later, this one (Coco as she has been named) I intend to keep close by as long as I can. Two word review: GREAT GUITAR!

Best guitar I̴ve ever played.

By Jesus Sandoval

from San Pedro Garza Garcia, Mexico

Comments about Martin 15 Series DC-15ME Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought this guitar from Guitar Center, and it is the best acoustic-electric guitar I have ever played. The look is impressive, very beautiful and disctintive colour. The sound is absolutely amazing. The only problem with this guitar, is that you will live worried about hitting it accidentally with something, it?s like a "supermodel" guitar, you must be very careful to avoid accidents.

Surprise Defect With Martin DC15-ME

By Dana Ziskrout

from Cypress, TX

Comments about Martin 15 Series DC-15ME Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I bought my DC15-ME and rec'd it 2nd day air as promised. I played it and it sounded great. Went on vacation, came back a week later, took it out of the case, and the internal electronics fell off from the guitar body. I called Martin and the genius there was less than helpful. So I then called Guitar Center. They were very helpful, immediately emailed me a return label, and now I have to wait about ~2 weeks for a new guitar. I give GC 5 Stars for service, and I give Martin, whose guitars are NOT cheap, 1 Star for the "so what's the problem dude" attitude. Shame on Martin.
