This is a perfect companion to my D-35. Great woody warm tone. Not a boomy sound , but just what I wanted.

The 000 size is very comfortable without compromising any of the rich, Martin quality of sound. This guitar is so fun to play.

        Great value

Comments about Martin 15 Series 000-15M Burst Auditorium Acoustic Guitar:

Don't let the plain look put you off, this thing is no less quality than martin'd 3-5 grand guiatrs. It's just completely unadorned with cosmetics, which i have come to actually love. I compared it to may martins at all price points at several stores over the course of 3 days. I spent hours playing them and went home with the 000-15M because crazy as it may seem, i could only find one martin in a room full of them that i felt was as good or better. Something about the mahogany top just gives it perfect balance and a richness i wasn't hearing in most other martins at any price point.

You have to realize that this guitar is built with the same quality as the expensive ones and it's very apparent upon close examination. Bone nut and saddle and all solid, even ebony bridge pins, which by the way i determined years ago sound better than any other material after trying them all. So martin knows what they are doing and is doung thier best for this model. think about it....the building process for this guitar is a fraction of what it takes to make a more ornate martin. No binding, no gloss, no rosette to speak of. The cost savings for manufature is huge, yeat the guitar still lists for close to $2k. So if anything you would think the tone should be easily as good or better than the higher end ones, and indeed that seems to be the case.

Put a set of your fav brand and gauge of strings on it and play it for a few days and watch what happens. they come alive quickly as the string shrug off thier new metallic sound the the guitar settles in. This guitar is without a doubt in my mind at least the best value in the martin line. I prefer it's tone to the clapton 000 at 3 times the price. Just remember one thing.....don't judge the tone till you get your strings on it and play them in and the guitar gets a chance to settle. In a day or 3 it'll seem like twice as good as it was new. Stupid good value, and it made me change my tune big time on the value of bluridge, recording king, eastman and all those great bang for the buck imports. they ARE good for the money, but the only ones i have owned or tried don't compete well with this thing till you reach a cost MORE than i paid for this. Add to that it comes with a good HSC and lifetime warranty and the name of THE quinessential guitar company on the headstock, and it was impossible not to choose this guitar. Oh, and i did not see the 000-15M NON burst listed on this site for some reason so i posted this under the burst model. exact same guitar tho aside from the bit of dark around the perimiter.
