Sublime natural Martin tone, fabulous Martin looks.

The HD-35 acoustic guitar combines Martin's visually striking 3-piece back design with many of the prewar features of the legendary herringbone D-28. Tonally, the guitar's rosewood back produces a strong bass, making it ideal for rhythm playing. The top is constructed of solid Sitka spruce and braced with scalloped 1/4" high-performance braces to deliver big, open tones. Includes case.

  • Finast guitar I have ever played

As reviewed by Mark Gutman on 5/14/2011

I have been playing guitar for 44 yrs. Fifteen years ago I bought a Martin HD-35. It has been the finast guitar I have ever played. The highs are crisper, the lows are richer and the mids are fuller. Nothing I have ever played comes close. I am a professional and I play this guitar on stage!! 6 weeks ago tragidy struck and my Martin got destroyed in an unfortunate accident. I immediately bought a new HD-35 as I do not want to go onstage with anything else.

  • My 2nd love

As reviewed by Devon on 3/27/2010

this guitar from the moment i picked it up was amazing just as well as when i met the love of my life when this guitar found it's why into my hands it felt like finding love all over again, the finish was so smooth and the perfect sound resonated from it's flawlessly crafted body and the string tension felt like an electric just so smooth and easy and the finish isn't all plasticey it is so smooth feels like a laqur finish to me, i have found no problems with this acoustic, allough it does feel very fragile thats just because of the price you pay. it is very well crafted and perfect for any professionial guitarist or advanced player

  • Surpasses Expectations - thats big

As reviewed by Bayne Pride on 6/10/2013

How many times do you shop for a guitar, order it without playing it first, and surpass expecataions? 1 of 1 for me. I have a 1981 MArtin HD-28, a 2011 Martin GPCPA1, and some other nice ones. I wanted a MArtin with 1-11/16 nut to allow me to play into my senior moments and not forget the HD28 love which is over the top. After so many years it has small issues in playability but very small and has more tone and resonance than any guitar I have played which is a huge number. I am in my 60's. Bluegrass, Folk, Blues, Gospel, Contemporary Gospal. The HD-35 is like playing the 28 in stereo as someone once said, exceptional playability since I milled off 0.03 from ther bone saddle, and transitiones +.002 on low E end. They ain't no Taylors available to match this. Caint touch dis. The pream and transducer(s) will be a simple soundboard and saddle combo. Much Mucho better thant the Aura on the GP models. Take my word for it. If you have the mother load of an ax you don't need all dat. It just adds frustration. A simple Vol and Mix control is all you need with this royalty axe.
