The tone of the Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar is what separates it from all other guitars. This left-handed version has a solid Sitka spruce top with glossy finish, special East Indian rosewood for the polished back and sides, and genuine ebony fingerboard and bridge. With its rich, resonant warmth and punchy volume, the Martin D-28 is particularly well-suited to music styles requiring loud, powerful rhythm accompaniment. Martin includes a deluxe hardshell guitar case and limited lifetime warranty with the D-28 Dreadnought.

  • Great Guitar

As reviewed by DANA WHEELER on 10/1/2012

I purchased a new left handed Martin D35 this past February, I couldn,t play a left handed model at Guitar Center so I had to strum a few chords upside down on a right hande D35. I liked how it sounded in the store. I also tried some Taylors but didn't like their sound, too much treble. I purchased a new D35 and when it arived I wasn't as fond of it as I thought I would be. I thought that it lacked volume and it had a bit too much trebble. I found that when strumming hard to get more volume it began to sound tinny. To make a long story short, I decided that I wanted to hear a D28, Guitar Center didn't have a the store I went to. I ended up ordering one and then when it came in I took my D35 and went to Guitar Center and played the new D28. It sounded much better to my ear. I was able to exchange the D35 for the D28. I have had the guitar since the end of February and I am very pleased. Great balanced tone, clear notes and good volume.

  • Awesome Guitar

As reviewed by guitarman on 5/14/2007

The first word out of my mouth when plucking the low E to tune the guitar was "whoa!" I was immediately highly impressed with the vibrant, resonating sound of the Martin D-28. It just about knocked me over. I've been playing it for just about a year, and my opinion has not changed. This is a beautiful, flawlessly made guitar with a kick-ass sound. Right out of the box, the action was perfect, and I have not messed with it. This is a superior guitar in every sense. I even like the way it smells!
