A comfortable size with solid tonewoods and tasteful appointments.

A true traditional 000 acoustic guitar with a shorter 24.9" scale and appointments that match Martin's D-18 dreadnought. The shorter scale yields a lighter, more delicate feel to the string action. The 000-18 has solid mahogany back and sides, Sitka spruce top, polished gloss finish and a hand-fit dovetail neck joint, producing a slightly brighter tone than its East Indian rosewood counterpart, the 000-28. This is the perfect guitar for the intermediate and advanced player. The 000-18 includes deluxe Martin hardshell case.

Martin Standard Series 000-18 Acoustic Guitar Features:

  • Solid mahogany back and sides

  • Best Martin I've owned

As reviewed by Les Stewart on 7/2/2009

I've owned my 000-18 for almost ten years now. For guys like myself who started on acoustic , then became a rock and roller, this is a great back to roots guitar. with the short scale it plays closer to my Gibson electrics than the D-series Martins. It is great for acoustic blues and finger styles. It is alot more balanced than the J-40 I had and alot easier to play. A great , affordable Standard Series Martin.

  • Good Martin

As reviewed by Disastermx on 1/3/2007

I've owned this guitar for a year now, and I still love it. While it lacks the finer appointments of the 28 and 35 series (ebony fingerboard and bridge, nicer cosmetics) it is a great sounding guitar. Surprisingly loud for its size, it has a more balanced tone than a bigger guitar, with the emphasis on the mids and highs. If you are looking for a Standard Series Martin, but don't have 3 grand to drop, definitely take a look at one of these.

  • Martin 000-18 acoustic guitar review

As reviewed by Steve on 10/27/2009

I'm 56 years old, ( oh my gosh! ), started playing guitar when I was 13 or 14. Survived the 60's and lived the 70's. I've had more guitars then I could possibly remember. Admittedly mostly electrics but the only American acoustic I could afford in the early 70's was an Ovation Balladeer. They were new and everyone was playing one. They were also affordable but... after 7 years I missed the creaky nuances of an all wood guitar. Any Martin standard was my desire at the time but I was priced out of the market so I bought the 2nd best thing I could find which was a 1978 F350M Takamine. Looked like a Martin, played extremely well and sounded great. I still have this guitar. 2 days ago I purchased my first real Martin. A week before that I bought a Breedlove C25. Beautiful guitar but I felt that it was missing something, for lack of a better term, soul. I took it back and traded it for a 000-18 Martin standard and I couldn?t be more pleased. I am not disappointed in any way, shape, or form. I absolutely love everything about it. It?s looks, feels, sounds exactly like I want it to. Beautiful little nuances of sound coming from the quality materials and construction make this a super bargain at the price. Those who bought it and were not that impressed stifles me. All Martins ending with the number 18 are entry level standard Martins. Those that buy the 15?s and the 16?s or any number less than 18 are buying a sub-standard martin so that we can all afford a Martin. But once you step up to the Martin standard guitars, the 18?s, the 28?s, the 35?s and the 45?s, regardless if it?s a D, OM, 00, or 000, you are experiencing the best production acoustic guitar ( not acoustic/electric ) on the planet. What else can I say? I?m saving now for a 000-28! Party on Garth!
