Martin Performing Artist Series GPCPA5K Acoustic-Electric Guitar (H83040)
Availability:

An exceptional value with a Grand Performance size, solid Sitka spruce top and convenient Fishman F1 Analog electronics.

One of Martin's most affordable Performing Artist models, the GPCPA5 is available in a Grand Performance body size with a solid Sitka spruce top, koa-patterned high pressure laminate back and sides, High Performance Neck and Fishman’s F1 Analog electronics. Using advanced construction techniques, Martin is able to produce this fine guitar with a sound that rivals models costing much more.

Fishman’s F1 Analog preamp system
The F1 Analog has 2 control knobs and one display. By pressing the volume button down for 2 seconds the tuner is activated. The innovative one-knob tone control lets you choose between a natural, undersaddle sound with no EQ (fully counter-clockwise) on up to a “mid- scooped” tone with emphasized treble & bass and reduced midrange. Pressing the tone knob repearedly cycles through various phase settings that improve bass response while aiming to suppress unwanted feedback.

Case sold separately.

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!

I saw this guitar at Guitar Center and I fell in love with it. The moment you strum that guitar it sounds like Heaven. 5 Stars all the way.

  • Dissapointed

As reviewed by Brandon Mcferrin on 2/28/2013

Let me start by saying I first played this guitar about a year ago. I didn't have the moneey for it, but it sounded so beautiful that I could not put it down. After a year, I sold my Yamaha A1M, in order to buy this guitar, which I really wanted. I got it! It was beautiful sounding and played decent. However, the built in tuner was defective, so I had to swap it. The next one I got, which is what I'm stuck with now plays like garbage. It has been set-up to 7/64 to 5/64 action, with .0008" relief. Any more relief and it's unplayable. Any less, buzz buzz buzz. Right where it is, it sounds like dung compared to the other ones I played. I don't know why. Perhaps the inconsistency roots from the "Made in Mexico" stamp. Even the Martin sticker inside the sound hole had come loose by the timee I got it home. Cosmetically, this guitar is nothing to look at. The neck is, in fact, flat out ugly. It doesn't match the body. Look at the pics, and you'll see. I am giving it three stars based on my experience.
