Gorgeous Martin guitar with Fishman F1 Aura onboard electronics, sounds as spectacular as it looks.

The Martin Performing Artist GPCPA1 acoustic guitar was built to blend Martin's legendary acoustic tone and appointments with player-friendly features for outstanding playability and tonal performance. This wonderful Martin acoustic guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top, 2-ring rosette, solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, solid ovangkol binding, 25.4" scale length, 1-3/4" width at nut, solid black ebony bridge, and gold tuning machines enclosed with large buttons.

Articulate, yet powerful, the integrated Fishman Aura electronics system delivers stunning realism and projection in an easy-to-use onboard preamp system. With only 2 low profile knobs and a single LED display, the F1 Aura system offers advanced features in a minimalist design, unobtrusively top-mounted. It includes a digital chromatic tuner, volume and blend controls, independent 3-band EQ for both pickup and image signals, compressor, phase control and an automatic antifeedback filter with up to 3 notches. The genius of the F1 Aura is its ability to replicate the sound of 9 different world-class studio microphones. Fishman engineers have captured the distinctive audio "image" that these high-quality microphones "hear."

The F1 System is paired with the legendary Martin Gold Plus undersaddle pickup, known for its natural response. The Gold Plus is sensitive along its entire length, eliminating string spacing problems. The Delmar tortoise pickguard tops off its gorgeous embellishments.

  • Martin GPCPA1

As reviewed by Ben Perea on 11/23/2010

This is one of Martin's best developments in quite some time. Some may think it is a Taylor Wanna be but the opposite is true. The electronics are much more advanced than any of my taylors. The electronics can be tricky to figure out at first, but with a little practice - the possibilities are endless. This guitar is destined to be a classic. The neck taper is like none other - it is definitely the easiest playing acoustic guitar I have ever owned! The sound is perfect acoustically. Plug it in and the sounds are amazing and endless.

  • GPCPA1 Incredible

As reviewed by Verne McClelland on 1/14/2011

I've had this guitar now for about 6 weeks, and I like it more and more each time I play it. I play in a cover band that goes out with a large PA, playing for large rooms and outdoor events. I had been using my D41 with a Fishman pick up and Fishman Aura pedal, and it sounded pretty good. But being a Drednaught, it tended to be big and bassy with strong mids. Sometimes it would muddy up the middle range for the band. I purchased the GPCPA1 with the thought that it would produce a higher tonal range and therefore rise above the other guitars and keyboard and add to the overall sound in a positive way. AND IT DOES! This guitar is built for live performance and whether I play it in the band or in solo gig's doing folky music, it rocks. It is a beautiful insturment, with very nice action (after getting it set up properly) and the sounds it can create are exceptional. It didn't take long to get a handle on the controls and now that I have a decent grasp of them, I continue to improve my sound every time I play it. This is an incredible guitar. When played through a PA, it sounds like a high quality acoustic guitar with a mic on it, not an amplified acoustic/electric and so many of these types of guitars do. Great job Martin!

  • Awesome Guitar for Church

As reviewed by Jeremy King on 3/31/2011

I am the worship director at my church and I had been looking for a good guitar for Sunday mornings. I've always been a martin man so of course that's where I started. It's hard to find a good pickup system to get the true acoustic sound and this guitar nails it perfect. When I picked up this guitar I played for about 2 hours in the acoustic room at my local GC. From then on I knew I had to have it. about 3 weeks later I went in and picked up this beauty and haven't looked back since. This guitar added a whole other dimension to Sunday morning worship. I am able to lead the band with this guitar as it cuts right through all the instruments and makes itself known. The band is very delighted to be able to hear the guitar well so they can follow the direction of the song. Takes a little playing with the pickup to get dialed in but once you hit that sweet spot its awesome.
