Bass and treble balanced very nicely great earthy tones and solid sound. I have played other guitars but none compare to this rare sound of magic
Negatives first. The tone of this guitar could be a little better, the low end can get a little muddy sometimes, but this is fairly typical with a lot of Martins. If you want a brighter, tinnier, cutting sound, get a Taylor instead. But its still very impressive and balanced for this price point, rivaling $3-4K guitars, and many will prefer the more mellow tone. Also, you can't strum hard with it Its more meant for fingerstyle or some sort of hybrid playing style (it sounds much better played with a little more finesse). But, that's why you'd get a jumbo or dreadnaught, not this concert-sized model. Positives. This guitar, when the action is set right (should be fairly low right off the shelf), is very easy and comfortable to play. The fingerboard is a super smooth new age material, allowing for clean slides with minimal resistance and noise. And the on-board TUNER is amazing! It makes it so easy to throw in some dropped or open tunings in the middle of a set. It has a surprisingly good reverb effect, full digital EQ, and COSM body modeling (cool feature). This guitar has all the tech for the gigging solo performer or small band who wants to customize their sound. The quality of the materials is the finest you can get short of custom handmade. I highly recommend picking this model up, you won't regret it. Believe me, I did my homework before this purchase. Get a Monster acoustic cable and a quality (transparent sounding) acoustic amp and you will be a force to be reckoned with at any venue.
