Take your studio sound with you to the stage.

This special orchestra model is fitted with deluxe electronics for stunning acoustic-electric tone no matter the circumstances. A special edition of the Fishman Aura Acoustic Imaging Blender provides onboard access to studio-quality sounds live. The Aura does not change your guitar tone but accentuates it to project the true sound of the guitar as captured by high-end condenser microphones in a premium studio. 6 customized Sound Images, derived from actual studio recordings of the OMC can be blended with the resonant output of the Martin Gold+Plus Natural pickup signal for previously unattainable hi-fidelity reproduction of the world-renowned Martin acoustic tone. Other electronic features include a fully programmable digital EQ, feedback control, and a chromatic tuner.

The OMC-Aura has a solid Sitka spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck with modified low oval shape, and special pearl hexagon outline inlays on the ebony fretboard and bridge. Other special touches include a mother of pearl logo, ebony bridge and end pins with abalone dots, and gold tuners with ebony buttons.

All that you can ask of an acoustic-electric

Tone of the guitar acoustically matches that of any of their 16-series guitars: excellent balance across the fretboard, without alot of "thump" to the bass. The rosewood gives it complex overtones that are not present in their 16-series mahogany gits. The intonation of the guitar stays as well as can be expected as you get closer to the 12th-fret. Overall, the sound is excellent. When you plug it in, you're in a totally different league than Taylor's ES or any piezo pup you've worked with. You can blend microphone quality sound with the electric 'pop' of a piezo and the sound is just out of this world. My only wish is that we could get the Martin of our choosing with the Aura on board (could you imagine how great an OM 18GE would be with an on board aura?). Great quality, reasonable price. What more do you want?

A great stage guitar

If you need an acoustic electric you will be hard pressed to beat Martin's Aura guitars, great instruments with the best electronics going so far. The Aura system is fantastic, blows Taylors "ce" out of the water (I owned an 814ce). Acoustically the Aura's sound like the Martins they are, plugged in the Aura images give you a wonderful natural sound, with a very versatile module, including a tuner, anti feedback, image blending and EQ. The best stage guitar I have every used, and I've been playing for 40 years. Makes miking tedious and provides a sound so close it's not worth the bother. I've bought 3 Auras in the past year, enough said.
