  • Martin GC-MMC

As reviewed by JR on 11/28/2009

I compared this guitar to a multitude of guitars. My trip started out looking at the Martin DC-1 series. These are similarly priced, and have electronics built in. The sales person asked what I was looking for, and handed me the GC-MMV. The tone quality and sustain of this guitar were unmatched with anything they had in the store. The DC-1 was a bit "darker" and the mids were not as pronounced. I also did not like the laminate neck of the DC-1, or the finish style. The bass on the GC-MMC was deep, with the mids and highs blending in with a full ranged brightness. Hammer-ons, pull-offs were noticeably brighter. I walked out with this, and have no regret what-so-ever. It is a no frills, beautifully simple guitar with a quality finish. If it has a two-piece back, I can't see it. It is a must try when you go to the store.

  • Just Amazing...

As reviewed by Billy on 3/23/2010

I have purchased, owned and played many Martin guitars. Different series, models and price ranges over the years. From the X Series to a HD-28 and D-41 and in between to name a few. My idea of the ultimate acoustic is the D-28. I aquired a MMV that is right there with the D-28. The sound, tone, playability, quality, beauty, to say awesome is nearly an understatement. C.F. Martin & CO wrote the book on acoustic guitars. I highly recommend this guitar.

  • You won't be disappointed...

As reviewed by lanegan on 9/24/2009

I was in the market of another acoustic guitar for my 30th birthday. I went to Guitar Center and played several Martins of various prices ( I had my mind set on Martin), and this one really stood out among the others. Spectacular sound, beautiful to the eyes, excellent playability, this guitar really has it all. It really sounds and plays just as good if not better than other guitars that are substantially more money. Try this out yourself and you will see. This is truly a guitar that will last a lifetime. One of the best purchases I have made.
