Martin 000CX-1E
These Martin people are amazing. How they can make a guitar with an HPL back and sides sound so close to a solid wood guitar, and even smell like a solid wood guitar, is beyond me. I play a lot of Steve Howe's Travis-picked pieces and the clarity of this Martin is astounding from the lowest note to the highest.

MARTIN FOR UNDER A GRAND?
Who would believe a Martin for under a grand. But I tell you this guitar is amazing. I was sooo close to buying a Takamine but while waiting for sales help I picked up the CX1E. I was sold. Deep rich tone, crisp highs and warm mids and a breeze to play. Still can't believe I own one. Only draw back, and it's slight, is no built it tuner.

The BEST of the "lower-end" Martins
This guitar is a great finger-style guitar. I'm not much of a strummer, but, if finger-style is your bag, then this is your guitar!!! Crystal clear highs, and chest-rattling lows. I play in an open-G tuning for the most part, and the low D and G strings (normally the E and A) sound AMAZING. As do the higher strings. This thing resonates, and holds it's own as a straight-up acoustic...but, plugging it in is a pleasure too! The Fishman electronics are superior!
The only thing they could have added to this guitar would be a built in tuner from Fishman. But, otherwise...this guitar is my newest addiction! BUY IT!

How sweet it is!
Awesome, brilliant with rich deep tomes and responsive mid and high's. Reproduction through the Tascam CD recorder and the Rockit 5s could make a person cry! Thanks Yancy and Eric @ Toledo, and FYI my wife hasn't left me yet but I need to write her a song ASAP! This guitar for the $ is an unbelievable deal!

Bang on the mark
From when I picked it up to when I actually purchased it with no hassle in guitar center, Kendall, Florida; this guitar has done nothing but amaze me at it's ereasonable pricing and brilliance.It has a beautiful Martin warmth and is powerful when plugged in. I will use it soon to record with, but have already experienced it's greatness when played live. An absolute must for any a finger-picker. Strums beautifully as well. Sheer joy....

Oh man
Love, love, LOVE this guitar. It's not my first Martin, but it's definitely the best. Sweet, warm tone and takes a beating. That's all I need my guitars to do. Beats my D15 hands down.

Simple Amazing...i never even write reviews.
but for this master piece i shall, i decided i wanted to wait before i wrote the review on it to see how i liked the guitar over all. Pretty much i bought this guitar about a year ago, i play it at least 3 times a week live, and simultaneously at practices through out the week. I think this guitar is amazing, the sound the feel. the quality. i highly recommend this. I had a taylor 110c and the pickups on that were horrible. this guitar sounds way better plugged in and out. GO OUT THERE AND GET IT...ITS MY WORK HORSE......AND I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS!

MARTIN = QUALITY
I've been gigging with this guitar for over a year. I just got it back from Martin & CO. in Nazareth, they replaced the nut only because it wore down due to heavy usage. I perform 2 to 3 nights weekly and this guitar has been my workhorse. I also own a Taylor that cost more than 2wice as much as this model Martin. The Taylor is a great guitar, but I can honestly tell you, don't be afraid of laminate (hpl) back & sides. Especially when plugging in. Most of the tone comes from the top, this Martin has a solid pine top and sounds unbelievable. The Fishman electronics compliment the 000CX1E. It plays, feels, & sounds TOP NOTCH!!! I can tell you from experience, for the money, this guitar goes above & beyond dependable. GO MARTIN.
