For the last 3 years I've played a weekly 3-hour strolling musician gig, using a well-set-up old Yamaha acoustic with a Martin bridge pickup & mini-amp. Since playing 3-hours straight can be hard on the fingers, I decided to try Martin Silk & Steels. I wish I'd tried them sooner. They're not the loudest and don't work well with all guitars and players, but with my setup they have a sweet sound both acoustically & through the pickup. They last pretty long and I've never had a breakage problem.
These are great strings! They sound nice, clear, and are easy to play on. The wrappings are a finer guage to reduce finger/string noise, and it really works. I enjoy playing my dread with them on it.
Great strings. Very smooth, sweet sound. Decent string life, but with age they sound very dull.
