The DX1E has the "famous" Martin sound and playability found in their more expensive guitars.

The DX1E is a fine example Martin's commitment to preserving the earth's dwindling resources and designing guitars that are within reach of every aspiring guitarist. Constructed with a combination of highly compressed wood fibers (high-pressure laminate, HPL) and traditional tonewoods,

The built-in Classic 4 Sonicore Preamp System gives the player some impressive features and control over the sound: Equipped with Sonicore pickup and Switchjack, volume control slider, active bass, midrange, treble and brilliance slider controls, low battery LED, easy access "pull-out" housing.
