  • Great Action

As reviewed by Kevin on 3/25/2010

You can smell the wood on this guitar. It has top notch quality and sounds beautiful. The action on this guitar is great, you can get that low bassy sound that you want. It sounds great acoustic as well as plugged in. It stays in tune and if it goes out then the built in tuner is your best friend. I have found that this guitar is the best I own. I am so pleased with it because of its divine tone. To sweeten the deal even more LOOK AT THE PRICE! It is the best guitar for the price range and it outdoes others that are more pricey. It is just so great and I love it! I dont think there is a better guitar on the market for a price like this. By far the best purchase of my life

  • This guitar was worth the trip...

As reviewed by korean2nr on 3/27/2007

I have been doing some research for about a month. I tried to find the best guitar for my price range. The only way to do that was to play it myself. I flew from Anchorage, Alaska to Seattle, Washington and visited the SouthCenter Guitar Center. I played a few guitars like the Taylor 110-E, the Takamine EAN10C, Martin 000CXE, and then I played the Martin DCX1KE. After I played the DCX1KE, I bought it. The sound is so crisp and sharp. It also has a mellow tone too, not too bright. I also played it plugged in. It sounds even better. When I looked at the price, that made my decision so much easier. This guitar was worth the trip.

  • Wow...

As reviewed by Joseph A. Corbett on 4/22/2008

Wow...I have owned six guitars in my life but this is my first Martin. Why didn't I spend the money sooner? The tone is incredible - it is light and humble yet full at the same time. I play weekly at church and all through the week. This guitar has this full mellow sound for an acoustic electric...the action is so smooth. I don't even plug in for church...it is that full of a sound that it carries without being harsh at all. It is also just fun to play with a couple of buddies...heck, it is just fun to play...I am very impressed. The Fishman pick up clarity is also the best I have ever heard. The guitar finish is also beautiful. For the money...an awesome buy! I will only buy Martin from now on...
