Martin D-28 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar (100296702)
Availability:

Since its debut in 1931, the D-28 has remained the standard by which all large-bodied, steel-string guitars are measured.

The tone of the Martin D-28 Acoustic Guitar is what separates it from all other guitars. It has a solid Sitka spruce top with glossy finish, special East Indian rosewood for the polished back and sides, and genuine ebony fingerboard and bridge. With its rich, resonant warmth and punchy volume, the D-28 is particularly well-suited to music styles requiring loud, powerful rhythm accompaniment. Includes Martin deluxe hardshell case and limited lifetime warranty.

Hello everyone. I never right reviews on any of the products i buy, but i just had to for this guitar. this is one of the best instruments i have ever played, and i have played a lot of em! The price tag is up there, but hey its a martin that goes approximatly 10% up in value per year so it is worth it. a lot of people like the HD-28 , but for me it was too dark and not boomy enough, but i guess it all depends on the style of music you play. if you want one of the cleanest, open, and warm sounds that you have ever heard out of a guitar, then definitly get the guitar. The only downside is that the ebony fingerboard isnt as black and great as the older models used to have, but should not be a determining factor. overall im still shocked at the sound of the guitar and ive had it for 3 weeks, and it'll keep only gettin better as the wood opens up. :} i would just recommend not buying online and rather go to a retail location as it is a handmade guitar and every guitar will sound different. i tried 3 D28's at guitar center hollywood until i picked which one i liked! hope this helped!

  • Martin D-28 Sunburst - Worth the money

As reviewed by Luke W. on 6/22/2011

I recently ordered the d-28 in the sunburst color. i am extremely happy with this guitar. The sunburst color is gorgeous is worth the extra money. I agree with other reviews that this guitar has a great low end. The bass tone is really huge. NO other guitar can compare for what this is. A working musician's guitar that does not let you down.

  • New D28

As reviewed by Joe click on 5/27/2011

Went into guitar center in nashville tn with intent to take home a gibson hummingbird. I played the gibsons awhile and thought hey nice sounding guitars. But Then i picked up a martin d28 and was blown away!!!!! This martin stomped a mud hole in the butt of every gibson in the store! Needless to say, i took it home with me. They are pricey but for a life long investment and somebody who loves guitar u caant go wrong. After all this is the guitar hank williams played!
