  • Plays better then any guitar in this price range

    I bought this guitar as soon as I heard it... I originally went into the store with a 500 dollar budget.. looking for a decent guitar for strumming in the living room, campouts, back yard events, and so on... a good sounding take anyware guitar... well I looked at washburns, epiphones, an inexpensive taylor, and they all seem ok... then the sales rep came over and said I have the guitar for you but is a little more then your budget... I said cant hert to try it... he handed me the martin d1gt and the tone was fantastic, you could not beat the booming bass and bright highs from a guitar for this price... the neck is unfinished and so smooth and easy to play... the only thing was the action was alittle high for me.. i like low actions... but the quitar is setup at the factory for a one size fits all ... needless to say i walked out with the martin and made a trip to my luthier (martin certified)had him do a setup and lower my action and 60 dollars later the new marting became the guitar I was looking for ... Perfect sound... perfect action... just smooth in all aspects.... So if you are looking for a perfect take around quitar and have the extra cash, you want good sound when your playing and want that extra sweet look in your friends eys when you pull out a real martin instead of an epiphone then this is the guitar you need... two of my friend are looking at them now after I let them play mine.... SWEET....

    I walked into guitarcenter with no intention of buying anything. I just wanted to play some high end gibsons, taylors, etc. After playing a few I picked up this little fella and was stunned! The sound was incredible! It had a hefty bass and singing treble. I played a D-28 and compared it to the D-1, and of course, the 28 was better, but not for the difference in price. In short, I almost walked out with the D-1... it's a great piece of work.
