  • What a great little guitar

As reviewed by Bob on 6/2/2014

Wow!! This is a wonderful little guitar. The tone and sustain with Martin light strings are amazing. She's a plain little Jane with deep beauty. It seems to change tone getting deeper and richer after warming up against your body. I've had friends who have been playing for years with much more expensive guitars (2 to 5 times more) who are amazed with the sound and ease of play. Its hard to get this baby out of their hands. :-)

  • Surprising!

As reviewed by Peter Docherty on 4/16/2014

This small parlor guitar has become my favorite on stage. It has amazingly rich and complex tone which you wouldn't expect from it's size. Paired with an LR Baggs Anthem SL this baby sings. It has replaced my Taylor 815ce (2001) as my guitar of choice for stage, I find the smaller size more comfortable and enjoy the 12 fret build. For the price, this is a fabulous deal on a custom shop built Martin.

Be aware the photo's of this guitar are not correct--not on this site or some others I viewed. The guitar I bought and played looks much more like an 0-28vs. In fact I have herd several people refer to the 0-12vs as the "poor man's" 0-28. Could be, but I like the 0-12 just the same. Sweet sound, nice feel. The gold tuners, slotted head stock and no pick guard give it an even more custom look, but the sound and feel are most important to me. To me there is nothing like the sound of a Martin and this one is no exception. I am so pleased with the rosewood as well. Nice tone, great projection, set up nicely out of the case--typical Martin in many ways, and the 0 size makes it ever so easy to just pick up and play. . I am looking forward to installing a K&K pure and plugging it in as well. This was areal find!
